Code Rood… en wat nu voeren?

Nu de vluchten dit weekend vanwege de weersomstandigheden op code rood zijn gezet, krijgen veel liefhebbers te maken met een onverwachte onderbreking van hun voerschema. Een logische vraag is dan: hoe houden we de duiven in balans richting volgend weekend?

Het advies van de Matador is om de duiven eerst enkele dagen wat af te bouwen, zodat de vormcurve wordt verlegd naar het einde van de komende week. Binnen het Matador-systeem sluit de Start Mengeling daar uitstekend op aan. Deze mengeling bevat meer vezels en minder maïs, waardoor de duiven tijdens de extra rustdagen niet onnodig veel energie opnemen.

Seizoen op gang: Alfa 1 vindt zijn weg naar de hokken

We hebben de afgelopen weken kunnen zien dat al veel duivenmelkers onze nieuwe Alfa 1-mengeling in hun systeem hebben opgenomen. Bedankt voor het vertrouwen, en we wensen iedereen uiteraard veel succes en plezier met deze nieuwe ontwikkeling en modernisering van de sport.

Deze mengeling is ontwikkeld gedurende de afgelopen twee seizoenen en getest op tophokken, maar uiteraard ook bij liefhebbers die nog niet helemaal aan de top staan. Er zijn aanpassingen gemaakt totdat het werkte zoals wij voor ogen hadden: herstel van de spieren, reiniging van de darmen en ondersteuning van het immuunsysteem. Twee dagen voeren is voldoende, waarna de duiven aan het eind van de tweede dag klaar zijn voor de nieuwe week.

In de praktijk wordt Alfa 1 vooral ingezet direct na thuiskomst, op de zaterdag en zondag. Daarna kan er eenvoudig worden overgeschakeld naar de opbouw richting de volgende inkorving met de gebruikelijke mengelingen. Alfa 1 past dus naadloos in vrijwel elk voersysteem.

Waarschijnlijk ga je deze mengeling later dit jaar ook aan de jonge duiven voeren. In deze periode is het ideaal om op zaterdag het jonge spul alvast te laten wennen aan dit voer, met ingrediënten zoals mariadistelzaad en perillazaad, die soms enige gewenning vragen. Mocht je te maken krijgen met coli bij je jonge duiven, dan kun je deze mengeling gerust voeren; dit is al getest en goed bevonden.
