I`m addicted to basenjis since I have seen one the first time in the early 90ties on a dogshow at Dortmund/Germany. Therefore I got in contact with in the scene very wellknown Sally & Marvin Wallis from Zande Basenjis in Great Britain in 1993. I had to wait almost 2 years till 1995 before I got my first Basenji
Her name

was Asali, Zande Asali (Zande Rajua x Embeau Alpha) and she was on my side for over 15 years! Loki`s Iloua (Klassic`s Lady in Red x Zuri`s Nwa Ozuzu) - from the US. She was bred by my dear friend Alex Guth from Loki Basenjis. WIth "Loua" I had my first litter, she is the foundation girl of my Msumari`s breeding. Nowadays, there are 5 Basenjigirls out of 4 generations living at home with me. One male is living with a friend of mine and 4 more Basenjis are co-owned. Please read carefully the characteristics of the breed! Basenjis are not an easy breed and you need to know what you get for the next 12-16 years!

❤ MSUMARI‘S BASENJIS & FRIENDS MEETING 2026 ❤

Another fantastic Msumari’s Basenjis & Friends Meeting on 25.07.2026 – another wonderful day to remember!

As the weather forecast predicted temperatures above 30°C, we decided to start earlier than usual at 11:00 am, so we could hold our fun race before the heat became too intense.

A total of 24 Basenjis and 2 guest dogs, together with their owners - 35 humans - joined us this year.
Our Basenjis competed in six different categories during the fun race and the winners got trophies, while every participant was awarded a certificate and a small gift as a thank-you for taking part.

This year’s fun competition combined a small agility course with the challenge of eating a sausage as quickly as possible.
It was hilarious to watch, and everyone had an amazing time—as the photos clearly show!

Our „Guess How Many Kibbles Are in the Jar“ game was another great success, with almost everyone joining in and eagerly trying their luck.

Most Bs took the chance for an off leash run at the field inside the track and specially the youngsters had a blast, running free!

As always, the barbecue was absolutely delicious.
Big thanks thank you to everyone who joined us, brought delicious salads and cakes, and helped with setting up and taking down the tents and equipment.
Your support made the day run so smoothly.

Three caravans stayed overnight at the racetrack, and we spent the afternoon/evening chatting, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company until well past midnight.
We finally went to bed at 3:00 am, proof of what a wonderful time we had together!

„YOUNA“ was here for a visit and she is such a wild, little tri beauty…

Her owners Kathrin & Mirko came for a visit and we spend 3 beautiful days together with lots of adventures, hikes and walkies which can as well be seen in the feed of

„Louhmih“ such a funny and playful puppy and she makes such funny noises…!
The way she tries every trick to steal the toy from her half-brother „Thao“…
And in the end, she actually manages it and runs around squeaking with it.

❤ HAPPY 16,5 BIRTHDAY, MINOUH ❤

From a certain age on, birthdays become even more special, and we celebrate half years as well! ❤️

Our beloved Minouh is now 16.5 years old and still going strong!

Of course, she sleeps a lot and very deeply, she’s almost deaf, and her eyesight isn’t what it used to be.
But every single morning and evening she’s the first to remind me that it’s foodie time, and she still happily joins us for our daily walks.

We love this sweet old lady more than words can say. ❤️

Her 16.5 birthday treats were clearly a big success—as you can see from the photo!
