What Size Pet Spa Bathtub Does Your Salon Actually Need?
What Size Pet Spa Bathtub Does Your Salon Actually Need?
Salon owners ask me this a lot, and the answer usually surprises them: stop measuring your floor and start measuring your dogs.
Most people pick a tub by whatever room is left in the wash bay. Six months later they're hunched over a basin that's too shallow for a big dog, or heating water in something oversized for a shop that mostly does cats. Expensive fix, and honestly avoidable.
Here's the practical way to think about it.
Small-to-medium work — UPMB-MG1088, 80 x 70 x 95 cm with a 40 cm tub depth. This suits salons taking mostly cats, Shih Tzus, Corgis and similar. Deep enough to keep water around the dog, shallow enough that you're not filling a huge basin for a small one.
Mixed book, mostly medium and large dogs — UPMB-MG1077, 100 x 75 x 95 cm, 50 cm depth. If your future client mix is still a question mark, this is the middle choice that causes the fewest regrets.
Bigger dogs, fewer of them — UPMB-MG1066, 120 x 80 x 95 cm, 55 cm depth. More room for the dog to stand without bracing, and more room for your arms.
If you'd rather compare across the whole line, the UP-DPbathe series runs from 80 x 55 x 95 cm exteriors up to 160 x 80 x 95 cm, with water capacity from 90 L to 320 L depending on size. For giant breeds, or shops that occasionally need two dogs in one bath, there's the UP-DPbathe-8812 at 140 x 80 x 98 cm.
Two things buyers tend to underestimate. First, depth. A 40 cm tub keeps a small dog comfortable; a 55 cm tub keeps a large dog's chest submerged, so you're not chasing the water level mid-bath. Second, daily throughput. If your day runs dog after dog, the tub isn't only a washing station — it sets your pace. Slightly too big costs you water and heating. Too small costs you minutes on every single dog.
On the UPMB-MG, you can also spec the functions that match your service menu — ozone, touch control panel, extra nano milk bath, surf massage, air bubble with lights. Better to decide that before the build than after.
We build all of these at USMILE PET (Dalian Usmile Pet Technology Co., Ltd.), and we take OEM/ODM orders covering logo, package, color, voltage, function and private label — MOQ starts at 1 unit, with 25-40 day lead times.
So — what's the one breed your current tub can't handle well?
