Same shape. Different risk.
An approved sample is a baseline, not a waiver. A supplier change can alter fit, cleaning access, sound, sealing, sensor behavior, packaging, or the evidence behind the original decision.
Before a pilot run, review the interfaces around the changed part:
- What user-facing promise could move?
- What needs a focused comparison?
- Which firmware, work-instruction, or packaging assumptions are affected?
- What exact revision is being approved?
The new Petfessor guide maps a practical change-control review across fit, cleaning, sound, electronics, packaging, traceability, and risk-based evidence.
