Have you met Meow Meow?

She is a three‑year‑old calico chatterbox with a lot of opinions and zero hesitation about sharing them. She is a people‑loving, cuddle magnet who will happily narrate her day, your day, and the entire history of the universe if you let her.

She is brave, curious, and convinced that she is the main character in every activity. Although loving, Meow Meow prefers to be the only furry queen in her kingdom (not great with other cats or dogs).

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with endless commentary and unlimited affection, Meow Meow is ready to move in and supervise your life.

If interested in adopting, please send an application via our website! https://www.nwtspca.com/cat-adoption

FOSTER APPLICATION PENDING

Hi, I’m Aya! 🐾

I’m 10 months old, which means I’m still very much in my puppy era. I’m a shepherd mix who is playful, excitable, curious, and always ready for something fun. šŸ˜„

I’m a total love bug and pretty much assume everyone I meet is my new best friend. I love being around people, getting attention, and of course, playing with my toys. If there’s a game happening, I’d like to be involved!

Like any good puppy, I’m still figuring a few things out. Sometimes my puppy brain takes over and I decide my leash is actually a tug toy. I’m also working on my playful nibbles and learning that not everything needs to be part of the game. I’m a quick learner though, especially when someone takes the time to show me what they want.

I’ve made a few dog friends here, too! I can come on a little strong when I’m excited, so I’d probably do best with a playful or confident dog who doesn’t mind some extra enthusiasm.

I’m ready for a family of my very own, someone who will laugh at my puppy antics, play with me, and love me for the silly, sweet girl I am. Could that be you? ā¤ļø

Interested in Aya? We’d love to hear from you! Email [email protected] for more information. Adoption and Foster applications can be submitted through our website: https://www.nwtspca.com/

Meet Toopy! 🐾

Toopy is a sweet, energetic two year old Northern special with a big heart and lots of love to give! While we don’t know much about her past, she is quickly showing us what a wonderful girl she is.

Toopy absolutely loves her people and is happiest when she can be close to them. Once she gets to know you, she is affectionate, playful, and eager to spend time by your side. She can be a little unsure when meeting new people, more so with men, but with a little patience, she warms up and lets her sweet personality shine.

This girl is also very food motivated, which makes her a fun pup to train! She has been working on her basic obedience and is making progress with keeping all four paws on the floor when she gets excited. She is an enthusiastic girl who sometimes gets a little carried away when greeting her favourite people and dog friends, but she is learning!

Toopy may not have had much experience living indoors, so her future family will get to help her continue learning all about being a house dog, including her house manners and house training. She’ll do best with someone who is patient, consistent, and excited to help her learn.

Toopy has already made some dog friends and may enjoy having a well matched canine companion. With her energy and adventurous spirit, she would love a family who wants a fun companion to explore, play, and experience life with.

Most of all, Toopy is looking for her people. She has so much love to give and is ready to find someone who will give her the time and patience to help her blossom into the amazing companion we know she can be. ā¤ļø

Interested in Toopy? We’d love to hear from you! Email [email protected] for more information. Adoption and foster applications can be submitted through our website: https://www.nwtspca.com/

PENDING Foster Home

Mitzi’s looking for a foster or forever home! šŸ

Mitzi is a two year old mixed breed who came to us alongside her two puppies. Her puppies have since found their forever homes, and now it’s Mitzi’s turn to find a family of her own.

This sweetie is an affectionate, fun-loving, goofy girl with an enthusiastic spirit. When she has the right outlets for her energy, she has a lovely demeanour and is sure to keep life interesting. She has a deep love for toys, especially tug-of-war and fetch, and she is happiest when she has something fun to do. šŸŽ¾

Mitzi is currently working on her basic manners, including remaining neutral around distractions and learning how to redirect her excitement into appropriate outlets. When she gets excited, she can become mouthy with her handler in a playful way. She doesn’t always know what to do with all that enthusiasm yet, so she will need a home that can provide consistent structure, training, and appropriate outlets for her energy, as well as help her learn how to settle and have an ā€œoff switchā€ when playtime is over. Because of this, Mitzi is not a suitable match for a home with young children at this time. With continued training and guidance, we expect her to make wonderful progress!

Mitzi loves making new friends and has shown us that she can enjoy spending time with other dogs as well. With her playful personality and love of fun, she has already made several dog friends during her time with us and we think she’ll continue to thrive with positive experiences and guidance. 🐾

Mitzi has so much personality, plenty of love to give, and a whole lot of fun waiting to happen. She’s ready for someone who will help her channel that enthusiasm, teach her how to settle, and show her just how great life can be outside the shelter. āļø

Interesting in Mitzi? We’d love to hear from you! Foster and Adoptions application can be submitted online through our website.

~~~~~~WASHER SECURED~~~~~~~
Thank you everyone and Arctic Appliance
🚨🐾 WE NEED A WASHER! 🐾 🚨
We’re currently searching for a washing machine for the NWT SPCA shelter.
Our plan is to potentially purchase a new or refurbished commercial-grade machine that can handle the heavy laundry demands of a busy animal shelter and that can fit in through the shelter doors. In the meantime.
We are looking for a decent, reliable washer donation so we can continue keeping up with the constant laundry needed to maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment for the animals in our care.
If you have a washer that you no longer need or know of a business that may be willing to donate one, We would be incredibly grateful!
