Animal Control &Rescue Services Animal Control and Rescue steps in where others don't. Cat problems, stray dogs, aggressive dogs, All my time and my money goes into the shelter.

ACCR came in existence through my role as Animal Control By-Law Officer. The pound was seen by many as a animal shelter, and as there were no local animals shelters the pound morphed into a shelter. Because some of the dogs that came my way suffered from behavioural problems I used my pack of dogs and my way of training to turn them around so that they were suitable for adoption. I have never come across a 'bad' dog, but i have seen so many bad owners who's inability to understand the rudiments of dog training led to dogs becoming out of control. I live and work with the dogs so that they may find a better home and life. Two special people help with fundraising and we accept donations with open arms. We are a non profit animal shelter who work 24/7 helping dogs and cats find a better life. We rehabilitate dogs and try our best to furnish you with the dog that best suits your lifestyle. These two came in yesterday. Found and rescued. The white kitten is only a couple of weeks old and is being hand fed. The other is a little older and is providing a mothering hand for little one. A thing about donations. We are constantly looking for blankets quilts etc. They don't always last as long as you would expect. They get ripped or soiled to such an extent they have to be thrown. Imagine a hospital, not all bedding is reused due to germs and contamination. Plus our washing machines can't cope with really heavily soiled blankets and quilts. Food, we are constantly looking for food, anything from kibble, to freezer burnt food, meat raw or cooked and canned meat. We spend about $1000 a month on food for the dogs and cats so any donations are extremely welcomed. Toys, anything from kids soft toys to dog toys. We thank-you for your continued support and for the donations.

There is a small cub fox that is injured and suffering from mange running around the area of 1st ST West Wynyard. We have traps out to try and catch it and send it to a Wildlife rehabilitation center for treatment. Unfortunately we have not succeeded in trapping him/ her. If you see the fox please text where you saw him and what time. This will hep us narrow down the area the fox is in. Text to 306 560 9006.

Maximus and Baloo are now 8 weeks old and have received their first vaccinations. The mother is a German shepherd, the father unknown. Call 306 560 9006 for info on the adoption process, which will be very strict as I have hand reared these two from two days old, speaking as a caring mom. 😃
