🌫️ Poor Air Quality Alert for Our Area
The Innerkip & District Lions Club would like to remind everyone to take a few extra precautions while wildfire smoke continues to affect the air quality across our region.
Most people think about protecting themselves and their families—but our pets can be affected too. Dogs, cats, and other animals can experience eye irritation, coughing, breathing difficulties, and reduced stamina when air quality is poor.
Here are a few ways to stay safe:
🍁 Limit strenuous outdoor activities and prolonged time outside.
🍁 Keep windows and doors closed when smoke levels are high.
🍁 Stay well hydrated.
🍁 Check in on seniors, young children, neighbours, and anyone with asthma, COPD, or heart conditions.
🐾 Keep pets indoors as much as possible, avoid long walks or vigorous play, and make sure they have plenty of fresh water. If your pet shows signs of coughing, difficulty breathing, excessive panting, or unusual lethargy, contact your veterinarian.
The smoke may not always look severe, but it can still affect the health of both people and animals.
