Over the weekend I was honoured to present the “ MARITIMES MASTER DOG OF THE YEAR” award to Yannick Fergusson and his dog NMH GMH (4) Saltwaters daughter Richelieu “Tikka” QFTR. These two are an outstanding team and their hard work and dedication to the sport has shown in there results. Congratulations well deserved!!
Huge thank you to Cody Tingey for putting this together and allowing Maritime Dog Training to be part of this!!
This trophy means more to me than I could ever fully put into words. It was created in honour of my dog Otter, who meant the absolute world to me. In so many ways, I owe the career I have today to her. We travelled all over Canada and the northeastern United States together, training, competing and hunting. She was known and loved by so many people. Otter was truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog, and I feel incredibly blessed that I got to stand beside her and be part of her life. Knowing that her name and legacy will live on through this trophy, and through the great dogs who earn it, is a true honour.
