You could be making your dog’s anxiety or reactivity worse without even realizing it. You’re trying to help, but nobody’s shown you what needs to change.

And once those behaviours become a habit, guessing your way through them gets frustrating. Fast.

You need a step by step plan. What to change at home. What to do on walks. How to respond when your dog reacts, and what to teach them so that reaction isn’t their answer every time.

You need someone to walk you through it, especially when things get difficult.

So stop winging it. You’re already putting in effort. Let’s make sure it’s getting you somewhere.

There are two things that are keeping you stuck with your dog.

One, you’ve gotten comfortable.

You’re still frustrated, but you’ve learned to live with it. You cross the street when another dog comes. You put your dog away when someone visits. Every walk is stressful, but you keep telling yourself, “ It is what it is.”
And I get how it happens. You’ve got work, family, a hundred things going on. You keep putting it off because you’re managing.

But how much of your day are you spending managing something you wish would change?

Two, you don’t really believe your dog can change anymore.

“I’ve had dogs my whole life. None of them were like this.”

You probably have. But those dogs might never have needed you to learn what this dog needs from you. So now you’re trying everything you know, getting nowhere, and starting to think this is just who your dog is.

Before you settle for that, look into us.

If you’re willing to learn, take the help, and follow through, you’ve got a fighting chance. Don’t decide it won’t work before we’ve even spoken.
