I want to give everyone a little background about me because I think it’s important for people to understand why I’m continuing to search for Katie and why I’m listening closely to what I know about my little girl.

I have been a professional dog groomer for 26 years, and during that time I have worked with hundreds and hundreds of animals. I have spent my life around dogs and learning their behaviour. I understand how frightened dogs can react when they are lost, and I know that every dog is different.

Katie was in the care of a sitter when she escaped from the sitter’s home. She has been missing for seven days now, and I have been doing everything I possibly can from a distance to get her home safely.

But most importantly, I know Katie.

I know her personality, her fears, her habits and what makes her feel safe. I know how she reacts to unfamiliar people, sounds and surroundings. I truly believe we have to consider her individual behaviour when we are searching for her.

I’ve been told by some people that I shouldn’t have people continuing to search for her, but I simply cannot do that. I cannot sit back and do nothing while my little girl is out there.

I also want everyone to understand that Katie could be miles away from her last confirmed sighting. She has been missing for seven days, and a frightened little dog can travel a tremendous distance while looking for food, water, shelter and safety.

Please don’t assume that because she was last seen in one particular area, that she is still there. She could be anywhere in the surrounding areas by now.

I know people have suggested not putting food out because they want her to go into a trap. I understand that thinking, but I cannot bring myself to tell people not to put food out. Katie could be extremely hungry by now. She may be so hungry that food is exactly what brings her into a safe area or eventually into a trap.

There are live traps set up, but Katie could be miles away from them. That is why I’m asking everyone to continue looking and to think about all the places a small, frightened dog could hide.

🙏 Please check your:

• Garages and sheds
• Backyards and decks
• Under porches or steps
• Under and around vehicles — Katie has a tendency to go underneath cars
• Quiet, sheltered areas
• Security cameras and doorbell cameras

Please check even if you think there is no chance she could be there.

Katie has been seen in the Kilbride area, but she could have travelled far beyond that location. There are also family members and a few very close friends who know Katie and who I believe she may recognize and come to. When there is a sighting, those people are being contacted to check the surrounding area.

We have live traps set up. We have her kennel, blankets, clothing and other familiar smelling items in areas where she has been seen. We are doing everything we can to give her something familiar and safe to come back to.

The weather is getting colder, and rain is expected this weekend. I am terrified that my little girl is out there cold, hungry and exhausted.

I know people have different opinions about how this search should be handled, and I appreciate every single person who is trying to help. But I know my dog, I know animal behaviour, and I know I cannot stop looking.

That is my little girl out there.

So please, I am begging everyone if you are in Kilbride or the surrounding areas, look around your property. Check your garages. Check underneath your vehicles. Check your cameras. Check your backyard.

Even if you think someone else has already looked, please look again.

One person checking one garage, one backyard, one camera or one vehicle could be the person who finds Katie.

A little update on Katie ❤️🐾 missing 5 days

Katie is still missing, and I honestly cannot put into words how worried I am about my little girl. She has been out there frightened and alone, and not knowing where she is or what she is going through is absolutely heartbreaking.

Katie is still believed to be in the St. John’s/Kilbride area, but at this point she could be anywhere. She could be deep in the woods, along the roads, or hiding somewhere that nobody has seen her. Please keep your eyes open for her.

Katie is extremely frightened. If you see her, please do not chase her, call her name, yell, or approach quickly. Stay calm, keep your distance, and if you can, sit quietly and let her come toward you. One wrong move could frighten her and send her running farther away.

There is now a live trap set up in the area where Katie was last seen yesterday, along with a voice recording of me and some of my belongings. We are hoping that hearing my voice and smelling something familiar will make her feel safe enough to come closer.

I also want people to understand that I’m getting very little information about Katie right now. The only updates I’m receiving are from my two close friends who are helping keep me informed. I am not on the ground, and I honestly know very little more than anyone else. So if I don’t answer messages or calls with an update, it’s not because I don’t want to share anything I simply don’t have the information.

I’m in Europe on holidays with my daughter, and Katie went missing on the very first day we arrived. My daughter and I are both extremely concerned about her. It is absolutely heartbreaking to be away from home while your dog your family is missing. I’m supposed to be enjoying this time with my daughter, but my heart and mind are back home with Katie.

I also want to clear up some confusion about where Katie was staying. She was not with the sitter she normally stays with. She was with a different sitter.

The sitter had a fenced-in backyard, two doors, and a dog cage. I know Katie better than anyone, and I have always known that if she saw an opportunity to get out, she would look for a way to escape. I specifically told the sitter this because I know my dog and I know how she can be.

Katie has been with me for six years. I have never lost her in six years. She is an incredibly obedient little dog, she knows her recall, and she has always been very loved and cared for.

I’ve seen comments saying I shouldn’t have gone on holidays. Please remember that I also work away and I live alone. I need someone to care for Katie when I’m working or travelling. I trusted that she would be safe, and I never imagined I would be sitting here in another country desperately waiting for news that my little girl has been found.

This is not a vacation I’m enjoying right now. It’s an awful feeling being away with my daughter while my dog, who is part of our family, is missing. Every phone call makes my heart stop because I’m hoping someone has found her.

Please keep watching, please share her picture, and please report every sighting, even if you aren’t completely sure it’s her.

We just want Katie home. 🙏

Hello new clients! I'm a groomer with 26 years of experience, and I take pride in quality, one-on-one grooming whenever possible. My shop dog is always in the salon, so please make sure your dog is comfortable with that. I’m not accepting aggressive dogs or dogs over 35 pounds.

Punctuality is key: arrive exactly at your appointment time, and if you need to come early or late, text me in advance no phone calls. When booking, please text me and include a picture of your dog so I can plan the right style. Prices can vary depending on coat condition mats or poor coat shape may affect the cost.

I don’t tolerate repeated cancellations or no-shows; after the second time, you’ll need to find another groomer.

And just to be clear, I don’t have a magic wand. Dogs wiggle, so sometimes a side of the face may look a little different than the other. My top priority is safety if your dog goes home happy and injury-free, that matters more than a perfectly even haircut.

I carry insurance in my salon for any accidents. In 26 years, I’ve only had to use it once. A dog kicked back his foot and cut his paw on an open pair of scissors on the table. It was my fault, and my insurance covered the damage. I also have a camera in the salon to monitor everything.

However, minor things like soap or hair getting in your dog’s eye, or a nail cut a little too short, aren’t always preventable and aren’t covered by insurance.”

I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! 🥰🥰

Appointments & Visits
Please do not come to the salon without an appointment. I run a busy schedule, and unexpected drop-ins interrupt both my work and the dogs in my care.

Salon Environment
My salon always has my own small dog (Katie) present. If your dog is not comfortable around other small dogs, please keep this in mind before booking.

Scheduling & Policies
I also work another job, but I make sure to accommodate my regular clients around that schedule.

If you are an existing client (big dog) and do not keep your dog on a regular grooming schedule (every 6–7 weeks), you may be considered a new client and removed from my regular clientele list.
