Spirit of Hope Rescue

Spirit of Hope Rescue We are a volunteer run, foster based, non profit dog rescue that runs a low cost vaccination, spay/neuter, and food program for Indigenous communities.

SOHR was started in January of 2012 by Director Cathie Mieyette as a promise to herself that if she was to survive what was then a life saving stem cell transplant, she would start a rescue to assist First Nations communities with the overpopulation of dogs. Cathie is a four time cancer survivor. Since 2012, Cathie and her team at SOHR has rescued more than 4000 dogs.

❤️ Meet sweet Buddy he is a 3 month old yellow lab x puppy that had a tough start in life. SOHR saved him at 9 wks of age and he wasn’t feeling well so he was rushed to River Park Vet and was diagnosed with Parvo. Parvo is a deadly virus if not caught and treated on time. Dr.Virdi and Dr.Bhandari saved Buddy’s life.
Buddy went into recovery with foster mom Diane and her family and they have done an amazing job with his recovery. He is ready to find his own furever family❤️

❤️Buddy loves dogs, toys and he is fostered in a home with 2 kids that spend lots of time with him.

He is learning to sit and come by clicker training and to sit nice for a treat. He’s looking for his forever family. Nola lives in her foster home with two cats and three dogs.
She has not yet met any children under the age of 12.
She sleeps through the night in her kennel and will whine if she needs to get up for a potty break. She will go out and do her business, then right back to bed.
