Some goodbyes leave our clinic feeling a little quieter. Saying goodbye to our beloved Toast has been one of the hardest. 🌈🐾
Toast was so much more than our clinic cat. For many of us, he was here for most of our careers in veterinary medicine—a familiar face, a comforting presence, and a friend through every kind of day. He welcomed students during their practicums and volunteers finding their footing, helping so many people feel at home here at Fort Garry Vet.
He had a big heart and an equally big appetite. Many clients went home with a nicely discounted bag of feline food thanks to Toast’s “quality control.” He comforted our clients and offered our patients the moral support they needed—even when our other feline friends greeted his kindness with a little attitude.
Each of us had our own special bond with Toast. Whether he was making us laugh, keeping us company, or offering comfort during a difficult moment, he made our everyday lives better simply by being part of them. We loved him more than words can say, and we will feel his absence deeply.
There is comfort in imagining him crossing the rainbow bridge to meet his three-legged brother, Mirza. We bet they’re already curled up in a big bed, cuddled tightly together because when it came to their snuggle time, there was never any such thing as personal space. 🤍
We love you, Toast. Thank you for being part of our lives and letting us be part of yours. We will miss you deeply.
