Cindy started her fostering journey as one of our Neonatal Bottle Feeder volunteers and soon became a fully-fledged foster parent after falling in love with the program! Since the beginning of her foster journey, Cindy has been one of our most reliable and dedicated bottle-baby foster parents; if she has the opportunity, there will be the teeniest-tiniest of kittens in her home at any given moment! Volunteering in our nursery led Cindy to realize that there is a great need for foster homes that can provide around-the-clock care—and luckily for us, she was happy to become one of them, alongside her husband Ron!

It truly takes a village when it comes to caring for our neonates, and we managed to swindle Ron into bottle-feeding too! Even Cindy’s resident animals help out: Ripley (her very special boy cat) LOVES getting involved, keeping babies clean, warm, and comfortable while in his care. Having a cat that can keep the little ones company is invaluable; there is nothing better than mama cat, but Cindy and her cat come pretty close!

We are always overjoyed to see Cindy and Ron and send them home with a baby (or several!), for we may rest assured that their foster babies are always spoiled and diligently looked after; while these kittens may enter the world with a rocky start, Cindy provides them a soft place to land, and works hard to show them that they are now safe and loved and will be taken care of.

Thank you, Cindy, for all of your passion and dedication; it is life-saving for our most vulnerable population!

Kiwi and Button are best friends looking for a home together. They’re incredibly sweet and social birds (albeit a little nervous at first), and love to explore their homes! Button and Kiwi aren't too fond of being handled, but love being part of the action, and always have something to chirp about 🥹.

Nobody likes to be stared at... Luka is just pretty vocal about his feelings.

A staff and volunteer favourite, Luka has been waiting since AUGUST for his forever family to find him. This 2.5-year-old doesn't "show well" on the shelter floor (relatable), and gets pretty uncomfy with people staring in his window (...also relatable), but Luka has come such a long way with his big feelings. His reactivity to other dogs is getting better everyday, and he really just needs to get into a home with consistency and love. That's where he'll truly flourish.

If you've been on the fence about adding a buddy to your fam, and want to give this incredible dog his second chance at a wonderful life, come down and meet him! Anyone here will be ready and willing to sing his praises, and convince you to step in to his pod for a little visit (we'll just do it a little quieter than he does).

We currently have over a hundred kittens in foster care - that's a lot of mouths to feed. We're looking for donations of canned kitten food, as we've completely drained our supply.
If you have some to spare, or can purchase for us (Walmart has them by the case full) we'd be so grateful. You can drop off right at 45 Hurst Way.
