Reminder we're closed Monday, but come meet Benny before then and take this MODEL DOG home. Good looking AND a sweet, calm boy, he'll make a great addition to your family.

Benny has canine oral papillomavirus lesions on his lips but they are causing no discomfort, and will regress on their own as his immune system gets stronger! He shouldn't have contact with other pups until then.

What patience and love in the right home can do for a stressed shelter dog 🥰:

"My partner and I adopted Willow in November 2025. We were told prior to adopting her that she had been to the humane society twice already! We were also told she would probably be best in a home as a single dog, which discouraged us a bit because we already had a 5-year-old lab/gsp/coonhound mix. However, we brought our other dog, Buck, for a meet-and-greet with Willow and were told it went very well, and we were allowed to adopt her!

It was a very slow introduction due to Willow's resource guarding habits. It took a lot of patience and work, but after a couple months of slow introductions and constant supervision, the two are best friends and love to play together in their own crazy way!

Willow loves chewing on bones, running laps in our backyard, and informing the entire neighbourhood when she sees a rabbit or squirrel (thankfully in a rural town, the neighbours are more tolerant of this). She also loves to curl up with her mom and dad on the couch or in bed and take the longest snoozes. She is very sassy and isn't afraid to tell us when she wants to go outside or wants a treat!

Willow has made our lives a lot more entertaining and we love that Buck now has a friend to play with that has just as much energy and attitude as him.

Rolo is back in our care 🥺.

After thinking we found him his forever home, it wasn't quite the right fit, and that's okay! The biggest challenge here is that he needs to be adopted outside of the city because of Winnipeg's banned breed legislation, and we don't think he's ready for any dog friends in the home just yet. 

Rolo has a lot of energy, but he's the sweetest boy who loves cuddles, and has really learned a lot when it comes to his "sit," "stay," "place," and leash-walking. He's so smart, and once he gets his beans out, he loves to chill!

Bonus: Rolo has lived with cats before, so if you're looking for a dog to add to your cat pack, this might be the guy for you.
 
And if not? Please share Rolo's story. He isn't a fan of the busy shelter life, and really wants to be in his forever home, loving on his family.

Sweet little Ishka is ready to settle in with her people. At 3-months-old, Ishka is quite nervous, and spends a lot of time in her kennel, where she feels safest in our loud shelter. She's slowly finding her confidence, and warms up with treats, gentle baby talk, and a little patience, and we have no doubt she'll blossom into a loving companion after getting comfortable and settled.

If you think you can help her come out of her shell and trust the world, take this baby home asap!

Meet Elle Woods! This sweet 9-month-old is good with kids, a lil' reactive to dogs in shelter, so good at sits, and is ready to lobby her way into your heart 👩‍⚖️. She is smart as a whip, and has the brains and energy to learn as much as you're willing to teach her!
