I need to say THANK YOU again for everyone’s patience and kindness through this time. Words can’t describe how nice it is to have such amazing, supportive clients. Everyone has been so sweet and understanding and it means so much to me. Being self employed and a single parent can be scary on the best of days so it’s especially trying when things like this happen. You guys help so much with your encouragement and I appreciate you guys like crazy! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!❤️🥰❤️

New custom splint is on for the next 2 weeks till reassessment! Appointments are still on hold till Nov 2nd unless I message you otherwise as some small pets can be done! Some are more cooperative or require less pressure clipping wise than others. 😜❤️
I will reassess my pain levels, strength, and dexterity closer to that date and adjust as needed!
I will be playing around with trimmers this week. The OT gave me something that may help grip wise with the trimmers so Maxy will continue to be a guinea pig. 😜

🚨2 week update. Feeling good about the healing process!! Definitely feeling less pain when I’m using my other fingers on that hand since my broken finger was definitely still trying to participate! 🙄 Let’s gooooo I want to see the floofs againnnnn!!! 😂❤️

🚨UPDATE!🚨 I am still not doing trims right now. For those who don’t know, I broke my finger. Unfortunately, when I use my right hand, even though I can somewhat use my other fingers, my middle finger still decides to try to pitch in and bend. 😭🤦‍♀️That causes a decent amount of pain and I’m told I’m not supposed to use it.

My next appt is with OT on Monday morning where I will be getting a custom splint done. They did say that I should have it splinted for 4 weeks but I’m hoping to be able to do a few quiet small dogs or cat trims after 3 weeks which would be after Oct 26th. Then another 4 weeks of OT. The pressure that my hand needs to apply to use the trimmers to clip through the nail is the problem.

I’m not going to be booking any new appointments till I see where my finger and hand control is at at that point. Ideally, I’m going to go through all the clients that I had to cancel and give them first dibs on the first appointments once I’m healed! ❤️

So yes. Still broken. Waiting on a call from OT to fit me with a custom splint. I think next week will have to be a write off as well for appointments. They said 4 weeks of splint and 4 weeks of healing after that’s but obviously I will be doing trims before then. I’m fairly certain I can do the smaller pets and the cats that owners normally hold. I did a couple of cats this week with my small splint. I will be using Maxy as a guinea pig next weekend to trim cooperative large dog nails! 🙈😂
SO! In conclusion. I will be off next week and then going through appts one day at a time. ❤️❤️❤️
