We have had a couple new orders arrive as well as a bunch of info below. First off the highlights of the fish;

▪ A number of striking Corydoras species including CW28, CW127 and CW217 all at a nice size
▪ A big number of plecos especially on the Brazilian side of things
▪ Retroculus lapidifer sorta like a sexy Geophagus who hangs on the bottom
▪ Altum angelfish once more
▪ Krobia xinguensis - a fish I have not had in forever. Extremely cool small to midsized cichlid
▪ Real parrot cichlids - Hoplarchus psitticus
▪ Nice sized Gymnogeophagus terrapurpura
▪ Pink tail chalceus - first time in 17 years for reasons obvious to some.

Spencer will be speaking in Edmonton and Saskatoon coming up at the beginning of November. Spencer will be bringing orders to each of the meetings and dropping off in Brandon and Regina along the way. The following info on how to get in on free shipping…

▪ Dry goods orders can be made now and we will put aside for delivery.
▪ Brandon, Regina and Saskatoon we will start taking orders and holding for live plants and fish on October 26th. Pick up as we go by on October 31st for Regina and Brandon. Brandon around lunch time, Regina later afternoon. Saskatoon at the meeting on the 1st or otherwise arranged later on the 31st.
▪ Edmonton we will bring driving the dry goods with us and flying the fish and plants. Pick up for Edmonton will be at the meeting on November 3rd. You have to attend the meeting to get in on the free shipping for Edmonton. We will start holding live plants and fish orders for Edmonton on October 28th.
▪ Dry goods will be on a first come first serve basis for the space we have within the van.
We are anticipating a lot of new fish in prior to those dates as well.

We are anticipating to start opening the warehouse for walk ins on Fridays for the winter months starting November 6th. 12-4PM

We have this years big gathering of the DFO booked for Saturday, February 13th. This year features not one but two speakers;

▪ Michael Manalang from the Vancouver Aquarium will make his triumphant return home
▪ Rusty Wessel from Louisville, Kentucky - Rusty's Falling Down Tour

Those interested in tickets this year's event will be 50.00 including the talks and of course an evening filled with food. As space is limited it is on a first pay, first reserve basis. We also will be heading to Rumors Comedy club for the late show (945PM) on Friday, February 12th. We have a half off discount code for all interested in joining us. Our latest round of plants have arrived. This go around we have a bit more variety then normal and a few new varieties on hand as well.

We have this years big gathering of the DFO booked for Saturday, February 13th. This year features not one but two speakers;

▪ Michael Manalang from the Vancouver Aquarium will make his triumphant return home
▪ Rusty Wessel from Louisville, Kentucky returns and is promising something special. He also has been into livebearers a lot lately so take that with a grain of salt! ;)

We will have exact talks anticipated shortly. Those interested in tickets this year's event will be 50.00 including the talks and of course an evening filled with food. As really as much as we love fish we may just be as much a dinner club! As space is limited it is on a first pay, first reserve basis. Contact us for more details.

Latest arrivals include a new plant order and a South American order. Highlights of the newest arrivals are;

▪ While a good chunk of the plant order quickly went this week there still remains a decent variety of species on hand at the moment.
▪ For lovers of Corydoras we received a huge array of species on the most recent shipment.
▪ Upsized wild Hypselecara temporalis - chocolate cichlids
▪ Red pencil fish in mortenthaleri and the undescribed red pencil fish III. (higher the number redder they get). Both very cool small tetras great for accents in tanks.
▪ A number of wild Apistogramma species
▪ More wild orange shoulder severums at young adult size
▪ Bleeding blue tetras - Hyphessobrycon margitae
▪ Very nice sized spotted Rio Nanay angelfish. One of if not the nicest of all traditional angelfish
▪ Three species of knife fish
▪ Very nice sized zebra otocinclus

We finally are starting to get the airlines back up to full speed and with that we are now getting flooded with inbound orders. Highlights of the newest arrivals are;

▪ Latest plant shipment has arrived. It has a number of sword plants on this one with a few varieties we do not get that often.
▪ Argonectes longiceps - Jumpers - a very aptly named fish that feeds off the surface. In the wild can literally see the water boiling with them once you get them going. Great fish for mid to top parts of the aquarium though.
▪ A number of domestic oscar varieties that are running nice
▪ Discus tetras - one have not had in a few years now
▪ Cichla temensis - my all time favourite peacock bass.
▪ Bucktooth tetras - exodon paradoxus. A great fish to add to your best friends tank lol
▪ Flagtail prochilodus at a near perfect size
▪ Lightning corys - CW27
▪ A number of Betta varieties all running nice at the moment
▪ Albino clown knives - a first for me, all white with screaming red eyes
▪ Nice sized dwarf emerald rasboras
▪ Nice size Mekong tiger perch
▪ Pae abei - Abe's puffer fish a very cool puffer
▪ Sawbwa resplendens - asian rummy nose

I also have a limited amount of space for the first time for my father's memorial golf event we throw each year coming up on Friday August 28 at Glendale Golf and Country Club. Tee times start at 130pm. Those local and interested I have 1 foursome left but can take 1 to 4 on numbers, will make sure if not a full foursome that you are paired with a fun group. The event is a 4 ball best ball. There are a number of fish folks at this event as well. Those interested contact me directly for more information ASAP.

We are anticipating a Sera order in next this week. Probably be mid next week by the time we get it sorted and on the list but it should be the next thing on the list.

We have had a number of new fish arrive, highlights of which are;

▪ Red tail giant gouramis. My absolute favourite of the giants.
▪ Buccochromis rhoadessi males - a fantastic open water predator from Lake Malawi
▪ Rope fish for first time in years
▪ A nice killifish which pains me to say in Nothobranchius rubripinnis
▪ Congo tetras in 3 sizes
▪ Young adult electric blue acaras
▪ Keyhole cichlids at a nice size
▪ Red oscars for the first time in a really long time
▪ Red base tetras from one of our collecting trips. Attached below is the actual creek where they are from, the amazing Caño Vitina
▪ Mato grosso red cherry tetras. Sorta like an ember tetra on steroids
▪ Nice sized Bolivian rams
▪ Electric blue rams for the first time in a long time
▪ The fantastic red tail penguin tetras at a lower price as well
▪ Nice sized sterbai corys
▪ Trimacs
▪ Electric blue jack dempseys
▪ Amano shrimp finally once more
▪ Nice sizes on all the dwarf gourami - Colissa lalia varieties
▪ Great sized mascara barbs and an undescribed one from the Krishna river
▪ Cute dwarf hovering loaches
▪ Nice sized rice fish in a few colors
▪ Clown barbs a great mid sized barb
▪ Very nice sized spotted butterfly loaches
▪ Zacco platypus or the pale beak. A fantastic mid water fish.

As we are now done our latest expansion we are starting to rev back up on the stock levels. A number of new fish have arrived recently, highlights of the newest arrivals are;

▪ A wide array of bichirs
▪ Geophagus megasema - if ever there was a Geophagus to be more colorful than sveni this is the one that would be it.
▪ All the color of the rainbow is back in stock for glofish
▪ Red tail penguin tetras from Tele Pires a stunning mid water tetra.
▪ Black arrow tetras - Inpaichthys luizae
▪ Blackberry silver dollars
▪ Albino silver arowanas at a nice size
▪ Cracked zebra plecos - L236
▪ A personal favourite - Cincelichthys bocourti or the golden mojarra. A big stunning Central American that is a show stopper as adults... both sexes
▪ Wichmann's mouth almighty (see below)
▪ A number of rarer rainbow fish species
▪ Great sized purple spotted gudgeons
▪ A number of shrimp and snail varieties
▪ Sicyopterus lividus a very cool goby

Next up we are anticipating plants to be ready at the beginning of the week with South American fish probably chasing them next.

Highlights of the newest arrivals are;

▪ Latest round of driftwood and rocks have arrived to the warehouse
▪ A new fish in Phoa Xua gourami out of Vietnam
▪ A wide array of discus varieties
▪ A few varieties of rice fish, a great species to have outdoors during our brief summer months with their ability to handle a wide range of temperatures
▪ A number of Betta varieties are on hand
▪ Thin bar tiger datnioides
▪ Golden belly barbs, first time for me on these ones
▪ A small amount of guppies including some very nice tuxedo types
▪ A rainbow of colors in regards to the shrimp

Also a reminder that we are now into summer hours for the warehouse. We are now closed Fridays till sometime in September. Current hours for walk ins are;

Tuesdays - 3:00 - 7:00 PM
Thursdays - 3:00 - 7:00 PM
Saturdays - 11:00 - 5:00 PM

Newest arrivals to the list are glofish and latest plant shipment. On the plants there are a few new ones including a new Anubias for us as well as return of a few varieties we have not had in a while.

Often the best fish show up in the dead of the summer and with Winnipeg about to finally get 30 plus degree weather this is a sign that it is the start of the cool fish season! This week we definitely have that covered, highlights of which are;

- Hypostomus luteus both phase 1 and phase 2 (infact some are borderline phase 3) This is one of the kings of plecos
- Cameta brown and Rio Trombetas semi royal discus
- Bumble bee oscars the far rarer cousin of oscars Astronotus crassipinnis
- White seam bristlenose are in season once again
- L136 - have not had this one before. Sorta a nicer version of L04 which I often say is the most under rated of the plecos
- Red titanic plecos - L273
- LDA007 or sometimes called L600 the nicer version of Leopard cactus plecos. This is a seldom had one and more of a favors fish when we get them.
- Super schwartzi corys
- A couple seven pointer scarlet plecos
- Yellow Ponta grande plecos. One of if not the most striking of the L333 varieties
- Orange Venezuelan corys

Next up we are anticipating rainbow fish and African cichlids to be ready.

As many of you may know we typically throw a birthday sale on Spencer's birthday each year. This year holding the 50th convention we only had the sale for the attendees with how much was going on that week. So with that in consideration we will hold our annual birthday sale for this year tomorrow for Tom's birthday. Warehouse only - Thursday, May 14th, 3-7PM. We will do our best to put a majority of the warehouse on sale for it!

If you get Tom to flip you the bird (His favorite greeting for customers he truly likes) you may even get a further discount.
