We wanted to share some information for our followers that may not know that our rescue is the parent rescue of the Manitoba Basset Hound Rescue!
Trina who oversees the intake and adoptions of this division of our rescue has been a little busy over the last 5 weeks! We have taken in 4 basset hounds and all of them are so sweet!
Check out the rescue's post to learn more about Scarlett and the other three dogs that came into our care and learn more about how you can help us with covering their vet care.
The Manitoba Basset Hound Rescue will have 2026 Grey Cup Pool tickets available as a fundraiser very soon. Our rescue will also be selling tickets as well.
Message us if you have any inquiries about the dogs in our care or if you are interested in making a donation to the rescue or helping us fundraise!
Oh... hai! 👋
Scarlet didn't want us to share this photo (she thinks it's not her best side) but we wanted to let everyone know that she is recovering well from her spay surgery yesterday! No more being part of a backyard breeder for her!!! 👏
Scarlet came into the rescue with Walter two weeks ago today. They are both settling in well into their respective foster homes and really enjoying being little couch potatoes inbetween long walks and zoomie sessions. Both of them are sweet hounds full of character and we're so glad we get to help them find their forever homes.
All this though... comes at a cost.
We have taken in three basset hounds in the last five weeks. The average cost of their inital vetting and vaccinations has been just under $400 each (almost $1,200), as well we have the cost of yesterday's spay surgery. Walter will still need to be neutered and... we have atleast one more basset hound coming in today who will also need to be fully vetted and fixed, bringing us well into over $2,000 in recent costs, not including food.
Help us continue to help other basset hounds in need by donating to the rescue today!
Donations can be made to our parent rescue - the Boston Terrier and Pug Rescue of Southern Manitoba via e-transfer [email protected] or if you'd prefer, donations can be made directly to our vet bills at South Glen Veterinary Clinic (account #1877).
Any help you can provide to help us offset these costs and help us find amazing forever homes for these bassets is so greatly apprecaited! 💕
