Note: IF AN OWNER REPORTS A DOG MISSING, it is the responsibility of the owner to coordinate the effort to find their missing dog and bring it home. This page, and Winnipeg Lost Dog Alert, is here to assist the owner in getting the missing dog home. As an aid for searching, please message the admins and give as much information about the dog that is lost, when and where it was last seen, how to co
ntact the person who lost the dog. Let us know your cell phone number if possible, so that if anyone catches sight of the dog, we can contact you to give you the location. IMPORTANT: Be sure to contact Winnipeg Animal Services (WAS) via the City of Winnipeg Help Line at 311. Give them a description of your dog in case it has been found and brought there. Also call any rescues, vets, or animal authorities in your area. A verbal description or picture sent doesn't always identify your dog. It may actually be at WAS (or anywhere you believe the dog might be), so GO IN PERSON to see if your dog is there. In-person confirmation is the only way to be sure that your dog is there or not, and in fact most organizations require an in-person confirmation even if you believe your dog to be at their premises. IF SOMEONE FINDS A MISSING DOG, it is the responsibility of the person who found the dog to make every effort possible to have the dog returned to its owner which may include taking the dog to a rescue or Winnipeg Animal Services or your local animal authority until the owner is found. This page, and Winnipeg Lost Dog Alert, is here to assist in any way we can to help get the missing dog home, however we are not a rescue group and we do not hold dogs waiting to be reunited.
