We’re hiring!

Are you a people person with a retail background and a soft spot for animals? You might be exactly who we’re looking for.

We are hiring a Part-Time Adoption & Retail Specialist.
• 15–20 hours per week
• Customer service + retail + adoption support
• Friendly, confident and comfortable talking to people
• Evening and weekend availability required

You’ll help visitors find the right products, connect adopters with their potential new family member, and be part of the day-to-day experience at the shelter.

If you can say “Tralala and Tralalero” three times fast, you may be ready to adopt them.

These two Shepherd crosses came to us as strays found at an airport in rural Manitoba. They may not be siblings, but they’ve become the very best of friends.

These playful, affectionate puppies are looking for families who can give them patience, encouragement, and plenty of time to play.

Meet Tralalero, an 18-week-old Shepherd cross with a serious case of…puppy curiosity.

Tralalero arrived with Demodex mange, which caused some hair loss. The good news is that it’s not contagious, and with time and care, his coat will grow back normally.

These days, he’s much more interested in exploring, playing and getting attention from his humans. He especially loves playing with his best friend, Tralala.

Tralalero has had a rough start, but he’s ready for his next chapter.

Meet Tralala, a sweet 21-week-old Shepherd cross who is still figuring out that the world is a pretty great place.

Tralala can be a little shy when she first meets you. Give her some patience and reassurance, though, and her sweet, affectionate personality comes shining through.

She loves human attention, gentle encouragement and, of course, playing with her best pal Tralalero.

Tralala is ready for a family who will help her grow in confidence and show her just how good life can be.

Meet our senior adoptables looking to retire from their shelter life ✨

They’ve all had complete health checks and dental work, and they’re ready to spend their golden years doing what senior cats do best: napping, being adorable, judging your life choices, and accepting snacks.

Here’s who’s waiting:

Mr. Pawsby & Mrs. Pawsby: 11 years old and a bonded pair.

Eva Geeva: A sweet 12-year-old grey lady ready for her next chapter.

Bonette: 8-year-old long-haired tortie female. Fluffy, fabulous, and fully committed to the tortie lifestyle.

Hairette: 12-year-old dilute tortie female with plenty of senior-cat charm.

Ninette: 11-year-old grey tabby female who has perfected the art of being quietly adorable.

Yvette: 11-year-old patchwork tabico female and a very good reason to fall in love with a senior cat.

They’ve done their time. Now they’re ready for a cozy home and someone who thinks getting a little older just makes you more lovable.

Important Announcement

Our shelter is currently at full capacity, and our waitlist is several months long. Because of this, we are temporarily pausing all new intakes until further notice.

If you can help, please:

🐾 Adopt, don’t shop.

🐾 Be a responsible pet owner. Cats and dogs are a lifelong commitment. If you can no longer care for your pet, please try to safely rehome them with someone you know and trust.

🐾 If you’ve found a stray, please call 311 or contact the Winnipeg Humane Society or Winnipeg Animal Services for resources and support.

We know this is disappointing, and we wish we could do more. Right now, we simply don’t have the space or resources to take in additional animals.

We’ll share an update as soon as we’re able to resume intakes.

💚 A quick shelter update:

Our intake waitlist is currently 3+ months.

In the past, we’d do everything we could to make room for owner surrenders—even while our primary focus has always been stray, abandoned, and neglected animals.

With adoptions much slower this summer, we’ve reached a point where we simply can’t do that anymore.

At this time, we’re only able to prioritize stray animals and are unable to accept any owner surrenders.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. Every adoption, foster, share, and donation helps create space for an animal in need.

We will share updates if we are able to accommodate surrenders again.
