2026 marks a special milestone at Grant Park Animal Hospital — the 20th anniversary of becoming veterinarians for several of our talented doctors!

Drs. Kraemer, Ward, Bell, White, and Watson graduated together from the University of Saskatchewan in the spring of 2006, eager to begin their careers in veterinary medicine. Who would have predicted that 20 years later, five of the twelve Manitoba students from that graduating class would end up working under the same roof? Life has a funny way of bringing people back together- these days, every day feels like a vet school reunion at GPAH!

Take a look back at these bright-eyed, rosy-cheeked new graduates from the class of 2006. As you can see, most have aged like a fine scotch!

Please join us in wishing our doctors a very happy vetaversary! Here’s to two incredible decades of caring for pets and the people who love them—and to many more years of critter-fixin’ ahead!

We recently had the privilege of caring for some of our very favourite patients — the Winnipeg Police Service K-9 Unit.

Last week, Drs. Kraemer and Watson, alongside Jenn, Erin, and Alexia, completed wellness exams and vaccinations for 15 incredible working dogs (plus a few well-deserved retirees) who help to keep our city safe.

These remarkable dogs and their handlers serve and protect the citizens of Winnipeg in a variety of ways. They are highly intelligent, intensely focused, unbelievably athletic, and exceptionally resilient. And when they’re not on duty, many reveal a wonderfully goofy side, as these photos clearly show.

At Grant Park Animal Hospital, we are incredibly proud to serve as the contract veterinary team for the City of Winnipeg’s K-9 Unit. It is an honour to support these brave animals and their handlers, whose dedication to our community inspires us each and every day.

Meet the all-star Grant Park Animal Hospital team!

We are beyond ecstatic to officially introduce our newest veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer White, who joined us this year after two decades of veterinary practice in Manitoba.

Dr. White graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, alongside several of her GPAH colleagues/classmates, following pre-veterinary studies at the University of Manitoba.

Upon graduation, she completed a small animal internship at the Atlantic College of Veterinary Medicine in Charlottetown, PEl. This unique experience allowed Dr. White to explore roles in teaching and training veterinary students, and to learn from talented residents and specialists, all while gaining a deep appreciation of Canada’s East Coast.

Dr. White is a long-standing member of the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology and has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of allergic skin and ear diseases. Over a 20 year career she has pursued extensive training in this ever-expanding field.

In 2015, Dr. White became a care-giver to a very fearful puppy named Larry. Through this experience, she developed a special interest in behavioural medicine and Co-operative Care Training. Dr. White is Fear Free Certified, a qualification that provides veterinary professionals with strategies and resources to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress in pets during medical appointments and other interactions.

Dr. White’s calm and gentle demeanour always puts patients and their guardians at ease. Our clients appreciate her thoughtful and thorough approach to her work. She is conscientious, compassionate, and well-informed. You can be assured that your pet will be in excellent hands under Dr. White’s care.

The GPAH team is extremely fortunate to have another talented and caring doctor join our growing veterinary family. To schedule an appointment for your dog or cat with Dr. White, please call 2044778600 or email [email protected]

Another adventure-filled community clinic comes to an end 😢
We had lots of fun tending to the many dogs and cats of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. The days were long but the work was gratifying as always. We are always grateful to this community for repeatedly welcoming us with open arms. We are especially indebted to Fire Chief Mark Wyatt who ensures these clinics run as smoothly as they do. We also owe a big thanks to Autumn, our personal chef and baker, whose culinary skills get better and better with every visit. It’s a pleasure returning year after year when you’re treated as well as we are! Thanks so much Rankin! We’ll see you again soon!

The Grant Park Animal Hospital team is back in the northern hamlet of Rankin Inlet, the bustling hub of Nunavut’s Kivalliq Region, for another community vet clinic. After a two day, blizzard-related delay in departure, we finally made it up and were promptly put to work. We’ve just completed a 14 hour day of spaying, neutering, and grooming and are finally headed to bed. We’ll be back at it bright and early tomorrow morning- Nunavut’s pets are counting on us!
