Did you know almost every lost pet that enters RAMS has no identification and is not spayed or neutered?

Pet identification- Register your pets with your RM, city, or town where applicable. Place ID tags on collars. These can be purchased online or at select pet supply retailers. Use breakaway collars with cats.

Microchips can be purchased through veterinarians as an additional backup. The more identification, the better chance of getting your pet back if it gets lost!
Remember if you move, update the information associated with pet tags and microchips.

Spay/neuter- Spay/neuter helps control the pet overpopulation problem. Spay/neuter may also help reduce the urge to roam, aggression, and cancer risk in some pets.

Tragic Sandy Bay Dog Mauling Death

On July 17 the Manitoba RCMP received a request for assistance locating a volunteer who had attended Sandy Bay First Nation on behalf of a non-profit animal rescue organization.

Police learned that the phone of the missing volunteer was still showing in Sandy Bay. Multiple resources attended to the area and conducted neighborhood inquiries as well as utilized the Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS). The ping had a large radius which resulted in no one being located.

At approximately 6:00 AM this morning, a local maintenance worker located Amanda Nobiss
in the same area of the ping.

The cause of her death is under investigation and pending the results of a post-mortem examination, but has been reported by media as a dog attack.

The circumstances surrounding the death are not believed to be suspicious at this time. Several aggressive dogs had been observed in the area she was found.

We extend our condolences to the victim's family, friends, Sandy Bay residents, and the dog rescue community, as they deal with such a tragic loss. RIP Amanda. 💔

Today we lost our little friend Bean, aka Beanie, beanie baby. He was a staple at Bark lodge, always in the background with the big guys but loved running around with his little friends and always snuggling with a human when he could get in a lap.
We will miss you so much Beanie boy 🌈
