PLEASE consider supporting the Fall Fundraiser (donations have completely stalled) or making a general donation, in any amount. Times are tough, and I have many animals relying on me for care each and every day. Bills for vet trips, medications, supplements, and the supplies I'm having to purchase due to lack of donations are in the several thousand per month range. One amazing supporter has been almost solely carrying the multiple hundreds of dollars per week purchase of dry cat food and cat litter (and other urgent supplies when I run out) because I have zero extra on hand. I am so incredibly grateful, but this isn't fair to them. After paying property taxes, hydro, water, vehicle & tractor payments, fuel, house and equipment repairs, my own medical expenses, and other every day costs of living, there isn't anything left which means digging deeper into credit to ensure the rescue animals always have what they need. I have accepted that I will never be able to have a "real" home (let's be honest, I basically have a room in an animal shelter), take a day off (haven't had one in 15 years), take a vacation (never had one in my 40+ years of life), or retire. I'm not saying this for sympathy, just to perhaps help people understand that I have given, quite literally, everything to the rescue over the years. I spend all day, every day dedicated to the animals - feeding, cleaning, medicating, taking to appointments, grooming, etc. I have no life at all outside of the rescue. There is no 9-5 shift here. It is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is beyond a full time job, on top of my actual full time job of boarding. Everyone seems to have an opinion about how things should be done, and certainly I continue to receive numerous requests to intake more animals, including having them dumped on my property, and dealing with threats about what people will do to these animals if I don't take them. That is a heavy burden to carry. All I'm asking from you is to consider easing the burden ever so slightly by donating, either funds or supplies, and doing what you can to help animals in need in your area yourself without demanding a rescue with limited resources step in to "handle the problem" and then being belligerent or downright cruel if the response is "Sorry, we aren't in a position to help right now.". Learn about trap-neuter-return and get the strays in your area sterilized and help stop the overpopulation madness by taking action instead of complaining or criticizing the exhausted and over capacity rescues for not being willing or able to do it for you. Everyone is capable of doing SOMETHING to help animals in need. I love every animal in my care. But, I'm running on fumes and need your help to re-fuel.
