Maverick update! Heā€™s 1 year old today and doing great!
Truly one a miracle in his own right!
- Orphaned at 1 day old
- found a nurse momma at 9 days old (thank you Crossed Pistol Paints!)
- dealt with an umbilical leak (cauterizing wands 2x daily)
- then we got hit with bacterial equine meningitis which presented neurologically for him and required meds 2-3x day for weeks on end
He relapsed multiple times but kept fighting, so we kept fighting along with him
And today! No symptoms, just a normal, goofy yearling, dismayed that I would stop brushing him to take a picture!
