Caring for the environment also means protecting our pets. Clean outdoor spaces reduce exposure to harmful substances and help keep pets safe during their daily adventures.

Simple habits like proper waste disposal and avoiding toxic products can make a meaningful difference.

June marks National Adopt a Cat Month—a perfect time to consider giving a cat a loving home. Shelters across Canada often see an increase in kittens this time of year, making adoption especially impactful.

Even sharing adoption posts or supporting local rescues helps more pets find safe, happy homes.

Take a few minutes to check your pet from nose to tail—eyes, ears, skin, and paws. Regular checks help you notice small changes early.

SugarPlumb has one creative bunny mom! SugarPlumb is an angora rabbit. They have super soft fur and don’t shed. While this may sound like a rabbit owner dream if their coat isn’t under constant maintenance they will mat. With daily brushing and teasing of the hair it will naturally come out and can be used for yarn. SugarPlumb brought this adorable bunny hat for Murray’s 7 month birthday! Thank you so much!

This week we are celebrating Dr. Kate practicing for 10 years! She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016 and came back to Windsor to practice with her dad. When reflecting over the past 10 years Dr. Kate comments “I’m aging with my patients. Those new puppies I saw when I started and now becoming senior dogs. I love how I can see them through all their life stages and be there for them. I’ve enjoyed the connections I made with my clients and kept that family feel at DVH.” Dr. Kate is planning on a long career like her father and hopes to keep celebrating future milestones. If you stop in at DVH this week come and try some sugar cookies (made for humans- by TLC bakery).
