I’m not sure whose bright idea it was to name us Edgar, Ellen, and Poe, but here we are. I guess our namesake was a bit of a spooky dude writer and it is October – so there’s that.
If I sound a bit cranky, it’s true. Let’s just say, I’m giving Grumpy Cat (RIP) a run for his money. Yeah, yeah, I’ve been known to hiss and pin my ears back – so what. It’s really just for show, a bit of a protective device. I’m trying to guard my introverted spirit as I’m surrounded by extraverts all the time. Ah-hem, have you met my sisters Ellen and Poe?! They’re all bubbly and truly kitten-like. Ewww. I, on the other hand, have the weight of carrying around a big name like “Edgar.” But I am cute, you have to admit, and I’m definitely more hiss than bite.
The Avon staff like to sneak up on us to give us cuddles. Apparently, it’s some kind of socialization boot camp ritual that they inflict on new recruits. I initially resist verbally, but I usually end up just leaning into it. They are breaking down my reserve one cuddle at a time. Dang it. It’s like they know what they’re doing.
My sisters, Ellen and Poe, are the best – purr-fect in fact. They’re social and all lovey-dovey with people, and they show off with their big purrs when anyone is around. Classic extraverts, like I said. I mean, look at them. They’re adorable!
We had a rough start to life without a real home, so I’m a bit protective of the girls. I’d be fine if you wanted to adopt me with one of them because I’m used to having them around. But if you think I’m the only one for you, I’d prefer a quiet home. A guy can dream.
Ellen and Poe are a little scared to be adopted individually – they’d rather stay together if they could – but if you’re keen to adopt only one of them, I’d think about it if you have another kitty at home to keep them company.
Gotta run! The staff are coming to try and cuddle me again! Pul-lease adopt us!
