A couple of spots left! This session could also be used as trial prep if your dog has been introduced to rats already :)

Junior handlers welcome as well!

Still a couple of spots left in this intro workshop on Sunday!
Sign up form: https://portal.busypaws.app/customers/freelife-canine

If your dog has been introduced to rats already, we can make accommodations to teach them some new skills and get you TRIAL READY for competition on June 6th!

Do you have a dog that LOVES to sniff in the environment and chase critters like squirrels? Would you like to funnel these natural talents into something productive and fun?

Then QUARRY HUNTING may be the perfect activity for your dog!
Maybe you've heard of Barn Hunt, which is where dogs search for trained, pet rats that are contained in safe, dog proof tubes. Quarry hunting is a broader term for dog sports that involve playing hide and seek with the rodent friends and may include searching in wooded areas, and more urban areas such as barns, garages, wood piles, around vehicles, or in man made burrows.

Our Quarry Hunting Intro sessions are the perfect introduction for new dogs and handlers
- JUNIOR HANDLERS WELCOME TOO!

Dogs search on their own so if your dog needs space from other dogs, they are welcome too!

Investment: The cost for this two hour session is $50/dog and the sessions are 10am-12pm or 1:30-3:30pm on Sunday May 24th.

Location: 15 minutes south of Williams Lake in 150 Mile House

Happy Ratters Competitions are being held at the same location on June 6th and many dogs are "good" enough at searching for quarry with just one intro session that they can try their paw at competing!

Class sizes are limited so dogs get to fit in lots of fun and practice!

*** Dogs that are very nervous or aggressive towards people are not suitable for these workshops but feel free to contact me about private lessons ***

Entries for HAPPY RATTERS and NASDA Urban Locate Challenge games trials are now OPEN!

The tentative plan (depending on entries) is to start with Happy Ratters at 9am. Dump Hunter Level 2 rounds (indoors) and Rats in the Garden Level 1 rounds will likely run simultaneously.

Following Happy Ratters, we'll do NASDA Urban Challenge Games (2 rounds each of games 2, 4, 6).

Fundraising for NASDA Junior Handler:

At the end of May, Sydney and I are travelling to Alberta for a huge dog competition! Sydney qualified as a junior handler with both Coulee and Rill to compete! She is one of a handful of juniors competing and the only one to represent BC ❤

NASDA generously subsidies the entry fees for juniors but we're humbly doing a bit of fundraising to help cover some expenses for travel, accommodations, banquet and because Sydney has already indicated she'd like to do some shopping with the vendors there HAHA.

It's a bit of a unique opportunity as we for sure won't be attending regionals/invitationals for the next couple of years given their far locations.

The flyer below shows some of our favorite dog gear that I have accounts with. I can fully attest to the quality of Messy Mutts products and use them daily, as well as Only One Treats (the sardines are a staple - the dogs, cat, and rodents love them too!).
Please pm me if you're interested in ordering! The prices are below suggested retail and include taxes.

The other cute little picture is Violet (one of our gerbils) admiring her handywork with pawprint painting! Sydney is doing this with her 2 gerbils and the rats as well. These little canvas paintings are 3" x 3" and are by donation (little easel not included but I can find more if you really want one!) She has 20 colors to choose from and they work best with 1 or 2 colors. I'll try to get some video of the process LOL.

Did you welcome a puppy to your home recently?

Puppy Start Right classes are ongoing year round! This class is for puppies that have received their 2nd puppy vaccinations and bordetella and are under 5 months of age.

Thursdays at 6pm in 150 Mile House (15 minutes from Williams Lake) I have openings to start this week!

* 4 consecutive classes * information handouts after each class * $170 plus GST

There is not a set start date - so long as there is room in the class (limited to 5 puppies MAX at a time to ensure comfort, safety and lots of personal help) you can start when you're ready.

Pop up weekend and in town field trip drop in classes scheduled on occasion that my puppy students have priority access to!

Set your puppy up for success by enrolling them in Puppy Preschool.

Hello Urban Hunting/Ratting friends! Rounding out some details for the June 6th trials!

I am offering Happy Ratters: Ratter level, Happy Ratter Level, possibly Expert Level for the regular classes but want to do some games as well! If you've reviewed the new rulebook are there any in there that you'd really love to see? Let's see your comments below!

Since Happy Ratters can be a bit of a shorter trial day, I'm also planning on adding on a NASDA Urban Games Challenge specialty trial meaning we can play multiple rounds of the games (planning on games 2, 4, and 6).
