Our Clinic
Alpine Veterinary Medical Centre (AVMC) is seeking a full time Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our practice in Whitehorse, Yukon. We have been in the community for over 20 years and have a strong connection with our clients within Whitehorse and the neighboring communities.
We currently have eight veterinarians and six RVTs. We practice high quality medicine and utilise digital dental and full body radiographs, ultrasound including echocardiograms, and a full suite of in-house lab equipment. Current RVTs have the opportunity to develop their interests including complex wound management, RVT appointments with clients, and in-depth counseling and management of diabetic patients. We would be happy to support you in developing any special interests you have to make the most of your knowledge and skills as an RVT.
We are in a unique position of providing veterinary care to a remote community. Because of our remote location, we frequently see challenging and stimulating cases, making practice here very rewarding. Whitehorse is still a small enough community that you will see clients and patients you know regularly, and your role as an RVT will make you an important part of our community.
Our Community
Whitehorse is an incredible city for living, working and playing. Outdoor recreation here includes world-class mountain biking trails, a cross country ski hill just up the road from our clinic, innumerable lakes for fishing and camping, and incredible rivers for canoeing and kayaking. Almost all subdivisions have nearby greenbelt trails for walking your dog, and there are over 500km of trails within the city and near the city for exploring. The sun sets at 1:30 am during summer solstice, so even after work you can be playing outdoors until bedtime, and regardless of what your activity of choice is, you can likely access it either directly out of your home or within 15 minutes of driving. If you’re new to any of these sports but interested in learning, Whitehorse has a great community centered around all of its different recreational activities that is welcoming to newcomers.
