toys, etc... We take pride in being able to provide you animals with a healthy products and a natural lifestyle. Yes animals have been domesticated for quite sometime but there mind, and body have never changed. We are a committed and passionate business, we stand strong in what we carry and say (If you don't lie you never have to remember what you said - Owner; Steve Gregory) We carry a wide variety of Natural foods from Canadian to some US. NO Byproducts

4. Just because its expensive doesn't mean its good
5. Must have a good quality protein
6. If the company doesn't make there own food, don't buy it

Staying away from all these will ensure your pet a better lifestyle as to gut health, energy, weight, and any type of body functions. You always want a high omega fatty acid in your food and a healthy one like flaxseed oil, sunflower oil, and fish oil (some examples). You want to stay away from fillers like corn, beetpulp and wheat, these are all used so it is cheaper for the company to make the food and your dog will have a larger stool production more frequently. Happy Saturday morning

Got some really great news yesterday afternoon

Brian and Joan who own Whiskers pet food and supply on Salt Spring island gave me a call yesterday to let me know that the community of Salt spring raised $892 to put toward supplies and food for all the wild fires that have been ravaging the Okanagan, Thompson area!!!!

To make this even better, they have kindly matched the funds raised to a whopping $1784!!!!!🎉🎉

We have been in touch with both ALERT and CDART to let them know about this kind and incredibly generous offering

Let’s give them a heroes cheer for thinking about all of us in our time of need here!

Good morning to all!

Well another trip to Penticton, this time with a very large amount of 1st mate cat and dog food.

1st mate has always been there for the okanagan when the need is there with this time being no different.

We delivered the smaller size bags which is what alert (animal lifeline emergency response team)was looking for. So much easier for the evacuees to store in cramped locations

Alert is always looking for the following products which we also brought out but there gone as fast as we can put them on the tables. Things like
-litter boxes
-litter
-scoops
- can cat food
-small kennels

The explanation is that is much easier to grab you dog when you evacuate but cats are much harder to grab or they are indoor /outdoor cats so people in there haste to get out do not bring as much cat products

Probably our last trip until Monday or we get the call for something that alert may need

Good afternoon all

First of all what an awesome job our customers have done providing the evac Center with so much!! Thank you ever so much

Today was our day to make another run to Penticton with all our donations from Petkind, and Petcurean. Huge props to you both. Much appreciated by all

I just finished talking with the great helpers from alert and was told that we are looking for the following:
1) cat litter
2) litter boxes
3) scoops
4) clean dog/cat beds

Sooooo

After a 3 1/2 hour adventure thru Aspen Grove, Princeton, Hadley, Keremeos, and finally Penticton, we arrived to drop off over 20 kennels, cat litter boxes, food, etc etc.

Looking to repeat the process all over on Wednesday when more of our donations from our manufacturers show up

Have a great night all let’s hope for some rain

We are still accepting donations. Kennels leashes, etc etc.

After three trips to the westside evacuation Center, we are done for today!

A big thanks to all who either donated kennels, treats, leashes etc etc or left extra money to be spent on litter boxes, litter scoops, calming treats, dog food and so so much more😊. You folks are the real heroes for helping out with the evacuees

We should be getting more wildfire pet food relief sent to us by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. The plan will be to take it up thru rock creek and double back into Penticton to take care of the people who were evacuated there.

We have a contact/customer who is going to help us get some pet food and supply relief out to the westside road people affected by the fires

Again, thanks to all who made me proud to be an “okanaganer” today
