A little different kind of rescue for Okanagan Cat Rescue🐿️❤️

While in Ontario, my kids and their cousins found these two little guys while out playing. Their first thought was, “Uncle Ry can climb up and put them back in the nest!” 😂

We reached out to local Animal Services and spent about 5 hours giving mom a chance to return, playing baby squirrel distress calls for short periods and keeping an eye on them.

After 5 hours and a revisit, it was time to get these little guys somewhere safe. They’re now headed for rehabilitation and when ready, will be released back within 100 metres of where they were found.

Pretty proud of the kids for seeing something that needed help and taking action. 🐿️🌲❤️

🚨 🐾 RESCUE IN PROGRESS ! UPDATE ⬇️

🐾🌲 ANOTHER SAFE CAT RESCUE! 🌲🐾

This little black kitty found themselves in a bit of a predicament in Southeast Kelowna, perched high up in a ponderosa pine with apparently no plans of figuring out the trip back down!

Misty spotted the cat and made the call for help, and her son Cole was there to lend a hand on the ground — including having the carrier ready when we came back down. 🙌

After a climb into the canopy, we were able to safely secure our unnamed little adventurer and bring them back to solid ground. 🐈‍⬛🌲🧗

From there, the kitty was brought to a local animal hospital for the standard microchip check and spay/neuter checkup in hopes of figuring out where they belong and getting them safely reunited with their family.

A huge thank-you to Charity and the Okanagan Humane Society for continuing to trust Okanagan Cat Rescue when a cat needs help getting out of a tree. We truly appreciate the relationship we’ve built and the confidence you continue to place in OCR for these rescues.

And of course, thank you to Misty and Cole for caring enough about a cat that wasn’t even theirs to make sure it got the help it needed.

🐈‍⬛ Chevy 💕 Another happy ending. ❤️🌲🐈

Chevy made it safely back to the ground today after getting himself stuck high in a tree.

Every rescue is different, and patience always comes first. Even with a few scratches along the way, seeing Chevy safely reunited with his family made it all worthwhile.

A huge thank you to Chevy’s family for trusting Okanagan Cat Rescue, and for the incredibly kind words afterward. They truly mean a lot.

🚨🐾 RESCUE COMPLETE – Meet “Angel” 🐾🚨

Today’s rescue involved a beautiful black kitty who didn’t have a known name. After everyone involved shared their thoughts, we all agreed there was only one fitting name for this brave little survivor:

✨ Angel ✨

Angel was found high in a pine tree, holding on and waiting for help. After a careful and safe rescue, she was brought back down to solid ground where she could finally relax and be held instead of hanging onto branches.

Every rescue reminds us how resilient cats can be, but also how important it is to act when they become stranded and unable to find their way down safely.

A huge thank you to everyone who reached out, cared, and helped make this rescue possible. Seeing the relief on a cat’s face once they’re safely back on the ground never gets old.

🚨 🐈‍⬛ RESCUE IN PROGRESS 🐾🚨UPDATE 👇

🚨 MAY LONG WEEKEND RESCUE 🐾🌲

This fluffy guy “Clyde” decided that the tallest maple in the entire bunch was the perfect place to spend his weekend 😅

This rescue took me outside my usual service area after receiving messages late in the evening saying:

“Clyde is located above the dead trees…” 🌳👀

By early morning updates, Clyde had moved farther out onto a branch while the family tried gently coaxing him down until Okanagan Cat Rescue could arrive.

After a long drive, a hike through thick brush, and a climb into the canopy… we finally met the very fluffy and very nervous Clyde 🖤

Thankfully, this story had a happy ending — Clyde safely made it back to the ground for some well deserved cuddles and recovery time 🙌🐈

Before our descend down and waiting for the owners to assist on ground transition we decided to take a quick selfie!

Big thank you to the family for staying patient, keeping eyes on him through the night, and reaching out for help.

Even on May Long weekend… the cats keep us busy 😅

the one that reminded us that not every rescue happens in a tree — but every rescue matters. 🐾

This Mother’s Day weekend, we received the update everyone was hoping for…

Mama safely delivered a beautiful, healthy litter of kittens. ❤️

What started as a simple message from caring people in the community turned into something truly special:
a safe place,
a second chance,
and now a new beginning for this little family.

Seeing this sweet mom safe, relaxed, and caring for her babies is exactly what rescue is all about.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this happen and a special thanks to Boundary Helping Hands Feline Rescue Society for taking care of this mother and her precious family!
