Beautiful Mya feeling fresh after a bath, brush, and trim 😍

This girl was an absolute champ through getting butt tangles brushed, nails trimmed, and toes de-grinched! Although she was a very good girl during her appointment, her fabourite part was definitely getting to go home 😂

✨ Function Over Fashion ✨

I originally wasn’t going to post these pictures. I don’t feel good when a dog leaves an appointment looking choppy and uneven - it feels disappointing, and I always anticipate the owner will be disappointed as well. It didn’t matter that I knew I was working with a lumpy, tired old dog who had recently had a home haircut. Sending the poor guy home looking scruffy didn’t feel good.

But then I got a text from his mom ❤️

“He’s so handsome and happy! And he’s feisty, which is unheard of after all haircut. He usually sulks and you can’t talk to him.” Then the next day I got another text, emphasizing how good he felt, and a message from his owner’s daughter thanking me for the time and patience I put into his groom.

You see, Logan is old. VERY old. He’s lumpy, his back legs are starting to give out, and he gets tired easily. He’s very patient and tolerant after a lifetime of grooming, but his body just doesn’t allow for the same quality of work that it used to. The last time he was groomed, this poor guy was so tired and sore after that he couldn’t stand. Traditional grooming requires hours of standing still, which can be extra hard on old bones.

Logan’s haircut might not be the prettiest, but he left feeling good. He left clean, and free of knots and tangled. He left feeling ✨ feisty ✨ and was clearly feeling his best - and that’s what’s important. Grooming isn’t just for making our dogs look good, it’s for helping them feel good, too!

Who is the floofiest boy in all the land? Why, Mr. Chase, of course! This beautiful boy was a groomer’s dream to work with - quiet, patient, and (mostly) cooperative ❤️ plus his awesome parent imakedogsnacks brought some delicious treats for Poppy and Winston!
