This October, Conestoga Veterinary Clinic is proud to participate in Fundraise for Farley Month in support of the Farley Foundation.

The Farley Foundation is an Ontario charity that helps people experiencing financial hardship access essential veterinary care for their pets. Through participating veterinary clinics, the Foundation provides financial assistance toward the treatment of sick and injured pets when their families may otherwise be unable to afford their care.

Throughout the entire month of October, we’ll be raising funds, and there are a few different ways you can join us!

Make a Donation
We’re accepting cash donations in clinic, or you can donate online by scanning the QR code on our Farley Foundation posters. Every contribution, big or small, helps provide veterinary care to pets and families in need.

Purchase a Pet First Aid Kit for $20
We’re putting together our very own Conestoga Veterinary Clinic Pet First Aid Kits! Kits will be made to order for $20 each, with all proceeds donated to the Farley Foundation. Kits will be made by the first week of November, and we will contact you when they are ready.

Enter Our Fall Raffle
We’ve put together three fall-themed prize baskets with something for everyone.

Please notify us if you are interested.

Our goal is to raise $500 this October, and we’d love your help getting there! Whether you donate, buy a raffle ticket or first aid kit, or simply help us spread the word, every bit of support counts.

Thank you, as always, for being such an important part of the Conestoga Veterinary Clinic community. We’re so excited to see what we can accomplish together for pets and families across Ontario.

Continuing Education Spotlight!

A big congratulations to our Lead CSR, Jacqueline, on completing her RECOVER Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses.

We’re so proud of Jacqueline for taking on these courses and completing them with ease! This is a great accomplishment and an important step in building her knowledge and confidence when it comes to emergency and critical care.

Continuing education is an important part of what we do here at CVC. We believe that supporting our team’s growth and development allows us to provide the best possible care to our patients and clients.

Way to go, Jacqueline! We’re so proud to have you on our team!

Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes at the clinic? We’re giving you a little peek! With CVC Case Spotlight, we’ll be sharing some of our interesting cases, unexpected findings, and medical mysteries in a fun and educational way.

This sweet indoor-only kitty was brought to us after her family noticed sudden swelling on the right side of her face. There was no known trauma, injury, or obvious explanation for the swelling.

We started with diagnostic imaging, and that’s when we found our answer:

A sewing needle lodged at the back of the mouth!

The foreign object had caused an abscess to form, resulting in the significant facial swelling. The patient was safely sedated, the abscess was drained, and the sewing needle was carefully removed. Thankfully, she recovered beautifully with no complications and has been doing great ever since.❤️

We are very proud to be a host for the Canadian Animal Blood Bank. They do amazing work to provide blood products for dogs in need, and we’re honoured to be a part of it!

Is your dog constantly scratching, licking their paws, or shaking their head? It could be more than just a quirky habit!

Allergies are common in dogs and can show up in a variety of ways. From itchy skin and recurring ear infections, to paw licking, face rubbing, and even digestive upset.

If you’re noticing recurring or persistent symptoms, it’s worth chatting with your veterinarian. Identifying the underlying cause can help get your pup more comfortable and prevent those frustrating flare-ups.
