We are sad but also excited for Kaelyn as she leaves the WEC family on order to move into a new chapter of her life. Kaelyn spent not just 1 but 2 full time semesters doing a co-op with the clinic and stayed on working as a technician this summer. We are grateful for the dedication, hard work and positive attitude you brought to the practise. Wishing you the best of luck with all your endeavours, we know you will be successful wherever you land! ✨🐴

🚨Air Quality Warning ‼️
Environment Canada is forecasting an Air Quality Health index in the orange which is considered ‘unhealthy’, small particle matter measuring over 100 due to wildfire smoke. At this level, it’s a good idea to modify your horse’s routine to help reduce unnecessary stress on their respiratory system.

Here are a few ways you can help protect your horse:
- Reduce or postpone strenuous exercise. Consider opting for a light hack, turnout, or giving your horse the day off until air quality improves.
Watch for signs of respiratory irritation, including:
• Coughing
• Nasal discharge
• Increased respiratory effort
• Exercise intolerance or decreased performance
If your horse is showing any of these signs, or has a history of respiratory disease such as equine asthma, it may be best to avoid exercise altogether until air quality improves and to contact your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns.

Stay Safe!

🐴 Did You Know?
When applied to the right horse at the right time, corrective farriery can have a profound impact on long-term soundness, comfort, and performance.
By carefully addressing hoof imbalances, limb alignment, and biomechanical challenges, corrective farriery helps support healthy movement and can reduce strain on joints, tendons, and ligaments. In many cases, early intervention can lead to lifelong improvements in a horse’s way of going and overall athletic potential.
Every horse is unique, which is why a thorough assessment and a tailored hoof care plan are essential to achieving the best outcomes.

📍Healthy hooves are the foundation of a sound horse.

Mack Harrison Farriery expertly applied these cuffs! Excited to follow the progress.
