Serious Question time.
I have an old gelding who is creeping up on 30 years old. 28 I think..
He gets around fine, plays with the colts.
But age is showing. He lost his pen mate of 25 years and was slowly declining. He has adopted a last year foal that lost his dam, so now has a buddy again.
I know his time is short. And I know I have to make the decision this fall.
I Know.
He is doing pretty 'good' other than losing weight.
He is on all the mash, alfalfa, grain he wants. But I let him run in that pasture with the others.
BUT.. THE KARENS 🤦♀️
I hate to put him down early because some do**he thinks he is too thin. And decides to hide her vehicle and walk down the road to try to sneak in to get photos.
y'all are exhausting. He is not neglected. He is not starved. He is OLD, and starting to show it.
The grass is getting short, I feed hay and grain to everyone EVERY DAY.
How do you all deal with these people? I refuse to lock him up.
