❤️ THANK YOU, VICTORIA! ❤️

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to our food drive! 🥫🧴🍼

Thanks to your generosity, we collected an amazing amount of food, personal-care products, baby supplies and other essentials to help people in our community who need a little extra support. Every single item donated will make a difference to a local family. ❤️

And of course, everyone who donated was entered into our prize draw...

🎉 Congratulations to LIN RUBIN, our lucky winner! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, shared our posts and helped us spread the word. We asked our community to show up — and, as always, you did.

We truly have the BEST community. 🥰🐾

Thank you from all of us at Harbour Veterinary Clinic! ❤️

📣 Important Clinic Update

Beginning Sunday, August 9, Harbour Veterinary Clinic will be closed on Sundays.

Our team will continue to be here for you Monday through Saturday, providing the same compassionate care for your pets.

This wasn't an easy decision, and we truly hope that one day we'll be able to reopen on Sundays. For now, this change allows us to better support our team while continuing to provide the high-quality care your pets deserve throughout the rest of the week.

Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your continued support of Harbour Veterinary Clinic. We appreciate being part of your pets' lives and look forward to seeing you Monday through Saturday! 💙🐾

Do you ever wonder why we continue to suggest a dewormer for all animals. This cat was acting normal, no vomiting or diarrhea. No reason to do anything special. But we gave her a dewormer and look what she had living in her belly. 🤮.

Cats and dogs pick up parasites so easily. Talk to us during your next visit if you want parasite prevention.

Happy Friday!

🎄❤️ Christmas in August is here at Harbour Veterinary Clinic! ❤️🎄

The people who love our patients sometimes need a helping hand too.

Throughout the month of August, Harbour Veterinary Clinic is collecting donations for our local food bank. Every donation will help support individuals and families in our community.

Most-needed donations include:
🥫 Canned soups, vegetables, beans, tuna, and fruit
🍝 Pasta, rice, cereal, oatmeal, and peanut butter
🥛 Shelf-stable milk and juice
👶 Baby essentials such as diapers, wipes, baby food, and formula
🧴 Personal care items including shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, and tissues

As a thank you, every donation earns you an entry into our raffle for an incredible gift basket valued at over $1,000! 🎉

Our pets bring us together, but it's the people who love them that make our community so special. Let's come together this August to help fill the food bank shelves and remind our neighbours they're not alone.

📍 Bring your donations to 811 Bay Street during regular business hours.

Together, let's help the food bank feel the love this Christmas in August! 🎄🐾

💥 Looks like Inky really shot herself in the paw this time… 🎯

Sweet Inky decided that a Nerf dart looked more like a snack than a toy. Unfortunately, it became lodged in her intestines, causing a life-threatening blockage.

Without emergency surgery, Inky would not have survived.

Thankfully, Dr. Just stepped in and successfully removed the obstruction, giving Inky a second chance at life. Now she’s recovering well and is on her way to living her very best life—just with a few fewer toy choices in the future! 💕

This is also a good reminder that many everyday household items can become dangerous if swallowed. If your pet suddenly starts vomiting, stops eating, seems painful, or becomes lethargic, don’t wait—seek veterinary care right away.

We’re so happy this little troublemaker got a happy ending. ❤️

🐾 Lesson learned: Nerf toys are for play… not for prey!

While Harbour Veterinary Clinic operates independently as a full-service veterinary clinic, we are proud to work closely alongside IBKC and share the same board.

The Safe Harbour program is fully funded by IBKC, with all applications and approvals managed through the rescue. We’re incredibly excited to collaborate on this initiative so more pets and families can access veterinary care when they need it most.

We are piloting a new program to help subsidize the cost of veterinary care for residents of Vancouver Island. Please read the entire page to see the things we can support and the things that are e…

We’ve had a few questions today and wanted to clarify 💛

Itty Bitty Kitty Committee and Harbour Veterinary Clinic are two separate legal organizations, operating in completely different locations with separate teams and day-to-day operations. It was important to us from the very beginning to keep the two entities seperate for accountability and animal welfare.

While IBKC is currently managing a parvo situation within their rescue, there are no cases of parvo at Harbour Veterinary Clinic. We do not have any parvo-positive or suspected animals in the clinic.

As always, we follow strict cleaning and infection control protocols to keep our space safe for all patients.

If you have an upcoming appointment, you can feel confident that it is safe to attend. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting both organizations in the work they do in our community 🐾

In Memory of Dr. Erin Heck

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Erin Heck, a member of the veterinary community from Alberta.

She was someone who chose a life of caring—for animals, for people, and for her community. That kind of work asks a lot from those who do it.

Her loss is a painful reminder that behind every veterinary professional is a human being—someone carrying the weight of this work, often quietly.

We ask that you keep this in mind in your interactions with veterinary staff. Kindness, patience, and understanding matter more than you may realize.

Today, we hold space for Dr. Heck and for all those who continue to show up each day to care for others.

With care,
Harbour Veterinary Clinic
