Introducing Authentic Canine's new dog walker, Jewel! ✨ 💎 🐾

Jewel has lived much of her life with dogs at the centre of it. She has worked with dogs in many capacities, including walking, pet sitting, and caring for dogs in a kennel as well as at a dog guide facility. Additionally, she has completed formal education to develop her knowledge and skills in training dogs using positive reinforcement. Jewel has raised five dog guide puppies and helped other foster families raise happy, confident, and successful working dogs.

Jewel believes the foundation of any relationship with a dog is trust, and understands that every dog is an individual, with their own personality, preferences, and ways of communicating. She is committed to creating positive, low-stress experiences where dogs feel safe, respected and understood.

Outside of work, Jewel loves to travel, but has never wanted to leave behind her dogs, Zoro & Keeper. This led her to spend years living in her customized van, allowing her to bring her dogs along to experience the scents & sights of the deserts in Arizona, mountains in California, and beaches in Mexico. Although Jewel's life is more settled now, she still gets out with Keeper and Zoro to adventure in nature whenever possible!

Introducing Authentic Canine's new dog walker, Autumn! ✨ 🍂 🐾

Autumn is a current grad student at the University of Victoria and has a passion for health and wellness for both dogs and people! Having previously worked in healthcare, they have a great eye for how people and animals are feeling in various environments and situations. The individualized care that Autumn has provided to children in their prior work has allowed for a seamless transition to providing compassionate, fear-free care for dogs. They grew up with many dogs and have a passion for providing enrichment and walks tailored to each dog's unique needs and interests. When not walking dogs or studying, Autumn loves to explore Vancouver island, read, and snuggle their three cats!

🎉 Big News! 🎉

We’re so proud to share that Chelsea is now officially an Accredited Dog Trainer (ADT) through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC)! 🐾✨

This is a highly respected international credential, recognizing Chelsea’s skill, dedication, and commitment to evidence-based, ethical training.

Already a highly skilled and compassionate trainer, this new credential is yet another reason we’re so proud to have her on our team — and why her clients (human and canine alike!) love working with her. 💛🐶
