Another fall week down with absolutely lovely weather! This past week is what I would call my perfect dog-walking weather. It wasn’t raining, so I don’t have to dry dogs off after. The sun was sometimes out but it wasn’t too hot or too cold, so the pups with light (fur) coats didn’t need to wear their sweaters or (clothing) coats. However, I sense the rain is coming soon.

Molly had her grooming appointment on Monday, so she switched her Monday walk to Tuesday as a one-off. Even if you sign up for weekly recurring walks, you are more than welcome to switch up the days as long as there is space for your pup 🤗

There was one walk this week that someone was heavily staring at me during the walk in which whenever I turned back to look for them, they would still be staring at me. It scared me quite a bit for my safety, so I tried to rush the pups along. It was later discovered that apparently the person who was staring at me was a friend of one of the dog’s owners I was walking and they were just staring trying to figure out if it was the dog they thought it was lol So lucky my fear was extinguished 😂

Finally, on Friday, on my first walk of the day, I was graced with the sight of a baby owl. I count that as a good omen! May our week’s be blessed with new knowledge and beginnings 💛 Athena watches~

Happy belated Thanksgiving! This past Monday there were no walks as I’m closed on stat. holidays ☺️ I hope you all had a lovely weekend surrounded by your loved ones.

This week we say two clients who added one-off walks this week. Both Oakey and Dozer joined for this Friday. Both of them gave me lots of notice in advance! But if you ever need me in a pinch, please be aware that there is a $10 emergency booking fee for any service booked within 24 hours of the service’s start time.

This week on Friday morning I saw a lovely change from Molly (the chihuahua). She has only had a couple of walks with me as she walks bi-weekly on Fridays only, so in the past she has been shy to leave with me. However, this Friday she excitedly greeted me and left very energetically as she has learned that when she sees me, it’s walk day with her friends Cash & Lily ☺️

Besides that, no big notes for this week thankfully 🤗 “You don’t want a long report” as I always say!

This is a difficult weekly post to start as I had a difficult experience to process on my first walk of the week. To respect those involved, I won’t share the details of the event. I wish I could have been more help to the people involved, but as I was with Dozer, I had to keep my space, but I still waited for the ambulance so I could share what happened with the paramedics. The whole thing left me with a new fear as well as being concerned for my parent’s health. I am also aware of how much I need to talk to a professional about what I experienced.

On a different note, that was the only thing I really had to write about for this week’s post as nothing else out of the ordinary happened. However, we may have a new pup joining Nat’s pack soon! Our meet & greet will be over this weekend, so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I missed my pack this week 🥺 This was a short work week for me due to Monday not having my car while it was in the shop (sent in at 8am, didn’t get my car back until 3:30pm) and then not working on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Wednesday.

As for that, there are no big notes for this week! And as we all know, “You don’t want a big report” lol 😋

Kaya & Harley took the week off, so Dozer was on his own for his usual morning Tuesday & Thursday walk. Because Molly was missing her Monday & Wednesday walk, her mom signed her up to join as a one-off for the Tuesday midday walk. On top of that, I got to see Kala & Elektra for a rare Tuesday walk (usually they’re on Mondays or Fridays)!

Fall has begun and we finally got some much needed rain this past week! Just in time too as we really needed it to help stop that wild fire near Sooke.

This week was uneventful (which is good lol). As I always like to say to my clients, you don’t want a long walk report 😋 But alas, I like doing a writeup for my weekly reports so let’s see if I can make something out of nothing 😋

This week for Oakey’s walks I noticed quite a few people comment on his collar (usually no one says anything) and how “cool” it is or how “bad-a*s” he looked. Truth be told it’s not decorative like it is when humans wear spiked clothing. It’s there to protect his neck from attackers - while also looking cool as heck lol

Finally, this week Maya officially switched from bi-weekly Friday walks to weekly Friday walks! She’s my first pup to go full time (5 days a week) with me 🤗

Ahh yes, mid-September! When it’s cold in the morning and I need to wear jeans & a sweater during the first walk, then I need to switch to shorts and a tank top due to being on the brink of heat exhaustion lol 😂 I can’t wait for it when it’s just a nice chill throughout the day. I love sweater weather 💛

This week we did have a last minute cancellation and I wanted to remind you that I have a 24-hr cancellation policy in place. To receive a full refund, you must cancel over 24-hrs prior to your service start time that is mentioned on your invoice (ex., if your invoice says the start time is 11am on Sept. 11, then you need to cancel by 11am on Sept. 10 to receive a full refund).

I’ve had numerous people reach out for my drop-in service over this past week. I wanted to take this moment to remind folks that my drop-in service has been on pause since the end of August as I have had to pick up another job to help with finances. My schedule no longer has the space to do drop-in visits. If I can get some more weekly recurring dog-walking clients, then I could drop my secondary job and bring back drop-in visits as my goal is to have my business be my only job.

Happy belated Labour Day this past Monday! 🤗 It was my first day off in a very long hot minute lol

Over this past week, we saw the return of Maya back to her regular scheduled 1hr group walks. While she was injured, her mom signed Maya up for bathroom breaks which anyone can sign up for ☺️ The bathroom breaks cost $15 for a short 10-15 minute walk, just enough to hopefully let your pup p**p.

Upon Maya’s return to walking with Oakey, and her absolute best friend in the world, Shia 😋 They could not stop attempting to initiate play during the walk, which made picking up their p**p a fun little adventure for me lol. When pups are like this, I will recommend that they do a playdate or the Walk & Play service as it would greatly benefit them and allow their friendship to flourish ☺️

It’s September! Which means at the end of the month, we need to wake up Billie Joe Armstrong lol But seriously, I am SO glad summer is done and we can get back to cooler weather 🤗

This week I finished my last drop-in visit contract and the service is officially on pause now. As hard of a decision it was to make, it was necessary for my physical and mental health as I was not getting sufficient sleep with my new job. During my drop-in visit on Sunday, I noticed how Maggie’s eye wasn’t opening - my own cat had the same symptom several months ago, so I knew I had to immediately contact my client and then I got Maggie to the vet. Luckily we caught it in time. Apparently it is the same thing that she had in her right eye but has now switched to her left eye. I’m glad I was there to catch it and get her seen asap.

I was notified last Friday that Maya had an injury, so this week and going into next week, Maya is temporarily off of her one-hr group walks and will just be doing 15 min bathroom break walks as to not strain her injury. Maya’s buddies already miss her lots! 💛

Finally, we had a new addition to the Friday morning walks with Cash and Lily. Molly (not Lily’s sister, Molly, this is a different Molly lol)! Molly was nervous at first and had nervous diarrhea p**ps when she first met the two, which then caused Cash to start pooing, and then Cash’s pooing made Molly p**p more and it became a domino effect of p**ping 😅

Another week done, another week closer to some cooler temperatures! As a dog-walker, I hate the summer due to how the heat affects pups; burning their paws and can cause heat exhaustion and heat stroke. I welcome the autumn season with open arms lol 😋

This week I did my last drop-in contract with Twiggs before I pause the drop-in service at the end of the month 😭 She has been such an amazing cat to care for as over our long time together (December 2024) I got to watch her trust me more and more 💛 When I first started our visits, she would hiss and swat at me as I walked passed her. Ending this visit though, she let me pet her and bear my face into the side of her body lol I adore her so so so much and I’ll miss her deeply.

After a one-week postponement, Shia and Maya finally got to have their first walk together and they were absolutely smitten. 🥹 They continuously attempted to initiate play during the walk (though very cute~, it is also unsafe while attached to two leashes while in motion for a walk lol). Saying they really liked each other is an understatement. I am thrilled about how well they got along ☺️

I also had another weekend walk this Saturday! This one was with Dozer ☺️ As a reminder, I am available to work on weekends though my schedule may fluctuate, so please DM me with the dates you’re looking for. There is a $5 surcharge for weekend walks ☺️

Finally, as of this Friday evening, I started my final drop-in contract before the service pauses at the end of this month. I get one final few days with the trio; Maggie, Steve & Claire whom I have been sitting for since October 2024 ☺️ Spending time with them always makes me so happy as they are some very snuggly kitties💛

EDIT: Thank you for bearing with me as I adjust to this juggle of adding a new job to my schedule. Doing both jobs during August has allowed me to figure out what my capacity is. As a recap of recent changes:
- The drop-in visit service is paused.
- The late afternoon slot has been removed temporarily as a weekly recurring walk slot. The time slot may still be available, but it will change on a week-to-week basis.
- I am closed on stat. holidays.
