The long weekend has officially begun! 🍂 And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we wanted to share a few things our team is feeling grateful for this season. 🐾

🤎 Maddie: I’m grateful for the beautiful weather we’ve been walking in!

💛 Amanda: I’m grateful for my dog Junie, decaf lattes, and my heated vest!

🧡 Amy: I’m grateful for the community I’ve found and the people I’ve met since moving to Victoria.

🤎 Tammy: I am so thankful for my family and friends.

💛 Rachelle: I’m grateful for Netflix, my Bissell pet vacuum, and a trustworthy van mechanic.

🧡 Katie: I’m grateful for my happy hens, waterproof walking shoes, and my wonderful partner.

There’s no better time than now to talk about the importance of footwear! 👟🌧️

When you’re walking dogs for a living, your shoes are more than just part of your outfit — they’re an important piece of safety equipment!

As dog walkers, we spend hours on our feet, navigating different terrains, responding to unexpected movements, and adapting to whatever the weather brings. 🌧️☀️

The right footwear can help provide:

✨ Better traction on slippery surfaces

✨ Support during long days on your feet

✨ Stability when walking dogs with different walking styles

Happy dogs, empty treat bags — here’s what happens next ♻️

With a team of 12 and a busy schedule, we sure go through a lot of treats!

Once those bags are empty, they don’t have to go straight into the garbage. We collect them and recycle them instead. 🌎

It’s a small habit, but those little bags can add up over time.

We’re always looking for simple ways to reduce waste in our day-to-day operations. 💚

In an industry that’s so unregulated, it’s important to know who is walking your dog, how they’re being handled, and what safety practices are in place.

Here are a few questions every dog guardian should feel comfortable asking:

🐶 What management techniques do your walkers use?

🚗 How many dogs are transported together in a vehicle?

🎓 What credentials or training do your walkers have?

🚨 What emergency management protocols are in place?

🐾 How are dogs introduced, and how are group combinations determined?
