The long weekend's barely behind us, and somehow the next getaway is already on the calendar.
Maybe your dog is off to daycare a few blocks from the condo while you're stuck in meetings. Maybe they're boarding while you fly out of YVR, or your cat is hanging out with a sitter for the weekend. Either way, there's one thing that's easy to forget until check-in: the vaccine records.
Many boarding facilities ask for proof of core vaccines, and some also ask for kennel cough (Bordetella). Every place sets its own rules, so grab their list first, then check your pet's records at least two weeks before you go. That gives you time to book a visit if anything's due.
While you're at it, check that flea, tick and worm prevention is up to date. Busy dog parks and the seawall are great for making friends, and for passing around things nobody wants to bring home.
