3 things I don’t recommend as a vet and why they matter:

1️⃣ Treating dementia before addressing chronic pain.

2️⃣ Skipping sedation prior to humane euthanasia: Sedation makes euthanasia more peaceful for patients and families.

3️⃣ Not communicating order of importance for meds: Owners need to know what to prioritize.

The details matter in geriatric medicine. Even the smallest changes can have big impacts on patient care and outcomes.

👉 What’s one small change you’ve seen make a big difference for your patients?

Chronic enteropathies and protein-losing enteropathy are two of the most common gastrointestinal diagnoses in small animal practice, and two of the hardest to work up with confidence.

A case can look diet-responsive on the surface and still be one of the conditions that mimics PLE, and this lecture is built around exactly that: when dietary therapy alone is appropriate, and when advanced diagnostics are warranted instead.

This month's member webinar is built around that exact question. Dr. Andrzej Ogrodny, DVM DACVIM (SAIM), is presenting a practical, evidence-based framework for chronic GI disease, built on the newly published 2026 ACVIM Consensus Statement.

Member Exclusive Webinar.
