We handcraft quality cat and bunny furniture!

06/12/2025

Our first catio project of summer 2025 is completed! There are a few details about this catio that we accommodated for our client. We added a ‘one way’ cat door that can only be activated with a special magnetic collar. Due to our client often travelling and having to get cat sitters, we added the kitty door just in case any of their cats happens to escape from the sliding glass window while the owner is away. This way, in the unforeseen situation one of the cats escapes while the owner is out of town, the cats can still make it back inside for safety! We also built the catio to be ‘freestanding’ and it does not attach the building - a typical requirement for strata councils. Instead, We were able to secure the catio by anchoring into the ground around it. The catio can also be disassembled easily, allowing for it to be transported in case the owner decides to move away.

Best of luck to the kitties! Enjoy!

Hi everyone! This is something that we’ve wanted to do from the beginning of Junior’s Jobs - but it has taken awhile for us to finally start to turn a profit while paying our leases, materials, and equipment for running a workshop. Well, it seems like we’re finally ‘getting there’ and can start to try to slowly give back!

Starting TODAY on Junior’s 6th birthday we are going to start allocating 10% of our profits to a new special fund in dedication to Junior! The monies we collect for this fund will be directed towards the efforts of animal rescue organizations. These resources will allow us to donate money or our
furnishings, and potentially fund bigger projects that we can be a part of!

The Junior Gives Fund is inspired by the generosity Junior, Catfe’s resident ‘good boy’. Over the years, Junior has selflessly welcomed new rescue cats to Catfe, brought joy to the cafe’s staff, and greeted visitors from all over the world! Junior is the true inspiration for Junior’s Jobs and with this fund his reach will extend even further - to help more animals!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Junior! You’re the best!

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY JUNIOR! You're the best and silliest co-worker EVER!

We've finally wandered into the world catio...puzzles 🤣. Junior and I worked with to design and construct an elaborate tunnel that runs between a basement window and an outdoor catio space. The requirements were that nothing could be fastened to walls - so we had to make sure we designed everything to fit as tight as possible!

The process began with a brainstorming session and me taking measurements of the basement entryway. Next, I plugged in my information into SketchUp and designed each piece of the catio. After building everything at my workshop, we brought over the pieces and installed everything into place!

Coco and Sora, the two cats who now call this construction their new tower, have learned to navigate the tunnel and are now able to go outside and get some fresh air and sunlight when they wish! 🌅

That's right Don! Let's do this! 😂

www.juniorsjobs.com is finally here and I welcome everyone to stop in and check it out! Right now we have some basic rabbit furnishings (and cat stuff is still coming). We will be releasing new products all the time and having most of them permanently available through the online store. But don't worry, you can still message me here on Instagram or Facebook and we can make your order through personal conversation, if you wish!

I very much think of this moment as 'the beginning' of a new era for us, as this website will serve as the backbone for who we are and what we are doing. Here we go!

Kitty litter cabinet here! 😸 This nice little custom cabinet was constructed with Baltic Birch plywood and finished with Osmo 'Cognac' wood wax finish. This was our first time staining plywood and we think it turned out quite well!

A special thanks goes out to for her help in doing the design drawings for this project. It was a pleasure to work with Dagmar and I look forward to working with her in the future, as Junior Jobs acquires more custom projects in need of design detail. If you ever need design help or architectural drawings I highly recommend Dagmar!

When we launch our website in 2 DAYS 🙀 we will be offering some very clear information about custom furniture services. We're looking forward to not only building, but also designing the perfect projects possible!

Hay, it's 'Low Friendly' 🐇

Flaps and Eggs are enjoying their new hay feeder this Christmas! Luckily for Flaps, who is a senior bunny and needs the edges of the litter pan to be low, we were able to find a litter pan shallow and large enough to suit Flaps' needs. They're super cute bunnies and share a household with another duo (Snicks and Bear)

I have been on the search for shallower litter pans for awhile now... I find it difficult to find the 'perfect' one for senior bunnies but I think this new white pan comes pretty close to ideal... (although the price tag for it is a bit high...) Nevertheless, the search continues - thank you for all your challenges in the bunny accessibility department! I look forward to finding more solutions in 2024 🥳

We are excited to announce that on January 1st, 2024 we will be launching our online store! This website has been a long time coming and we're finally ready to cross the finish line and into a new era of Junior's Jobs 🐈 🐇

Of course, we will continue to offer all of our baseline services such as custom furniture commissions, hay feeders, and scratching posts. Beyond that, we will be adding bunny toys, one-of-a-kind cat trees, and even bunny and cat inspired decorative pieces!

The sky's the limit and we will be trying lots of new things and adding them to our store every week. We will continue to push ourselves to create novel and unique animal furnishings that are well made and animals also love 🙂 ***Only 12 more sleeps to go! (A few more sleeps than that if you're a cat or a bunny, of course 🤭)

Bunny Bunk Beds have arrived to the lounge and Walnut, Lolla, and Tiger were kind enough to put up with a photoshoot 😉! Thanks buns! These beds are part of a series of new bunny bed experiments that I am making over the next month in preparation for the launch of our Shopify store (more to come on that soon). For now we can call this bunny bunk bed version 1.0 😆

Everything we make for our bunny friends at Juniors jobs is 100% 'nailness' (no nails or metal screws). Everything is constructed with poplar dowels and held together with non-toxic glues and components. Our experience has allowed us to grow and our understanding of what is needed for building the best bunny furniture is also growing!

If anyone is in need of a bunk bed situation for their bunchildren please don't hesitate to reach out via direct messages!

Stay cool out there in the summer heat everyone! 🐇 🛏️ 🐇 🛏️
