** Adoption Update **

Shadow and Penny’s world was turned upside down when they unexpectedly lost their human mom. 💔

In a single moment, everything they had ever known was gone. They found a soft place to land when they joined our family. After a couple of vet visits, lots of love from their foster mom Kim and family and a few weeks to settle in, the search began for something magical — a family who would open their hearts and home to both of them. And it happened.

Penny and Shadow found their family…
together. Two best friends who had already experienced so much change began their next chapter side by side, surrounded once again by the comfort and security of a family to call their own.

Earlier this evening we received a lovely update from their human mom:

“The ladies have been settling in nicely. Shadow is definitely the most adventurous and now has the run of the house. Penny is warming up and is hiding a bit less. Both ladies are still the sweetest, gentlest cats. I've attached a couple pictures.”

Penny and Shadow’s story didn't end when their world changed — a brand-new chapter was simply waiting to begin.

Happiest of new beginnings, Penny and Shadow.

You are home. ❤️🐾

Wee-Remember Us?

We were found in a garden in Uxbridge several weeks ago. We were very scared and oh so hungry.

We joined the BCC family and as our tummies were filled, trust was built. My sister Nyxie and I had a few injuries, that were treated. As our bodies healed, so did our spirit. Our foster mom and dad (Tracy and Ryan) were very kind and patient with us, giving us the time to flourish.

Last weekend our brother Tuck found the Purrfect forever family and today was our turn… Nyx and I found a home together ❤️

Tonight is the first evening in our new home, with a forever family of our very own!

Purrs,
Callie

We’ve introduced our senior colony a few times, but there is something about this little crew that never gets old. ❤️

Each and every day, one of us has the privilege of visiting with them. Our time together is never rushed. Surrounded by nature, with the cats quietly going about their day, it is an incredibly peaceful place — a little slice of paradise in an often chaotic world.

It’s a simple yet special place. Because we take turns caring for the colony, we take pictures on our days and share them with each other. In that way, we all get to see the kitties and experience a little of the warmth and joy they bring.

This morning was Dianne’s day to tend to our little crew, and Dianne has a wonderful way of capturing the beauty of these moments. Our colony cats are the best of friends. They walk together, rub noses in greeting, lounge side by side and are genuinely happy not only to see us, but simply to be together. ❤️

Rescue, like life, isn’t always easy. There are ups and downs, sadness and joy, and sometimes incredible pressure. There are days when the weight of it all can feel very heavy. But even the most difficult days eventually give way to a new one — bringing mornings like this.

Watching these little faces enjoying the sunshine, their friendships and the simple comfort of another day together — and allowing us the privilege of sharing those moments with them — is a gentle reminder of why we rescue.

Because so often, the ones we set out to help have a beautiful way of giving something back. ❤️🐾

** UPDATE **

Gideon, Rueben and Halle joined our family in early July after being abandoned by their momma. Lovingly cared for ‘around the clock’ by foster mom Angie and her family, their first few weeks were extremely difficult.

Thankfully, we are now happy to report that everyone is now doing oh-so-much better. Other than some lingering eye infections, this little crew is happy, healthy, playful and thriving.

Never underestimate the love of a foster family. It’s in the sleepless nights, the round-the-clock feedings, the worry, the patience and the countless little acts of love that fragile babies begin to thrive. Fostering doesn’t simply provide a safe place to land. It changes lives🥰

And for Halle, Rueben and Gideon, that love has made all the difference. 🐾💞

Yesterday was a Purrfect day for this sweet lil man.

Still fully learning to trust, his new family had visited him a couple of times at Pet Valu Uxbridge where Tyler began building quite a bond with the youngest member of the family.

Yesterday they officially welcomed him to their family, where he was welcomed by other human and feline family members.

Happiest of new beginnings Tyler ❤️

Foster mom Emma shared a lovely update on momma Bellatrix and her five littles. At just two weeks young, everyone is doing wonderfully!

We are delighted that Bellatrix is enjoying her very last litter, safely tucked indoors with full tummies, soft blankets and loads of TLC❤️

This Guy 💙

First spotted wandering outside of Uxbridge, this handsome fella kept us on our toes for several weeks. Hungry, yowling, and watching humans with a cautious eye, we knew he wanted help—he just wasn’t quite ready to accept it.

Much too clever for standard traps or drop traps, the fellow we would eventually name Beans (because he was absolutely full of them 🫘) made one very strategic decision that, by all accounts, likely saved his life.

Although he spent his days visiting backyards throughout the little hamlet of Sandy Hook, every evening Beans made his way to the home of a BCC volunteer and rescuer.

Traps were set. Beans avoided every single one. Yet every night he came. So his rescuer did what many of us ultimately resort to when all else fails…

She left the door open and waited in the dark😂

It took patience, perseverance, and a few unexpected visits from local wildlife who apparently found the indoors rather entertaining, but eventually the rescuer outwitted the rescuee and Mr. Full-of-Beans was safely inside.

And then something pretty wonderful happened….

Beans settled in immediately, spending his first evenings sleeping beside the very person who had worked so hard to save him. Greeting the cats he had viewed from the outside like reunited family. When no owner could be found, it became increasingly clear that perhaps Beans had already chosen where he belonged.

He became a forever member of the family. ❤️

Every cat is different. Every rescue journey is different. And while we may never know the full story of how Beans came to be wandering, hungry and alone, we know exactly how his story continues.

A family to call his own.
A belly that will never be empty again.
A warm bed shared with his feline and human family.

And the security of knowing he is finally home.
Welcome to the newest of beginnings, Beans. 🫘
