The weather jumped from -1 to 12 this morning. Between cracking garlic, catching up on Vincy news, filling customer orders, taste testing hot sauces, planning and executing Sunday's menu, there must be time to be outside in the garden. The Sun on my back always helps me calm, relax, reflect, and feel grateful.

Never brine before. Trying this with our chicken. The aim is Sunday lunch.

Soft Neck garlic doesn't have a scape, mild flavour, last longer, easier to braid, smaller cloves, ready before hard neck. Guess the number of cloves.

Angela is somewhere in Omemee cracking garlic for planting.

Good morning farm customers, 1/3 of the family is on the road processing our meat birds. Just hanging around the area, until ready for pick up. Message 647 580 8989, to reserve your fresh goose, duck or cockrell. Pick up after 4 today or Friday. Frozen whole turkey and cuts of pork are also available.

Angela is starting conversations with others who raise their own meat. Ethically growing, being paid fairly, the work behind the scenes, the challenges and who are our customers are becoming her favourite subjects.

We eat and buy direct from other farmers. This is how we support the agricultural community. Our preference is not to eat or serve you mass produced meats. If you would like to support agriculture also, start by buying direct from those who pasture raise meats near you.

Expect to see chicken soup and pumpkin dumplings on this Sunday's Menu along with a few family favourites. Coming?

Midnight snack. Picked a handful of garden ingredients. After washing, chopping, boiling the blue potato, added black garlic, pumpkin seeds, white w**e vinegar, sesame oil, garlic scape salt and black pepper.
