🎤🐾 Rory and Lucky were in for their spa days today!
Both pups left looking fantastic, but they wanted it made clear that while the groomer may be good with dogs and haircuts, her singing career still needs a little work. 😂

After two weeks in our Board & Train program, Tahoe returned home on Sunday following a successful transition training session with his family.

Tahoe came to us for support with reactivity and resource guarding. At the start of his program, interactions with other dogs often resulted in lunging and snapping behaviours. Throughout his stay, we focused on building engagement, improving emotional regulation, and teaching alternative behaviours that would allow Tahoe to make better choices in challenging situations.

By the end of his program, Tahoe was able to calmly and appropriately greet other dogs—an incredible milestone in such a short period of time.

While training does not end when a dog goes home, Tahoe has developed a strong foundation, and his family’s commitment to continuing his training will be key to his long-term success.

We are extremely proud of the progress Tahoe made during his stay and grateful to his family for trusting us to be part of his journey.

Congratulations, Tahoe, we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. 🐾

🐾 Hank was in today helping me with my practicum for a Teddy Bear Yorkie trim!

A huge thank you to Hank and his mom for letting me borrow him for the afternoon. ❤️ He was the perfect model and, an absolute gentleman.

I love having opportunities to continue learning and refining my skills so I can provide the best possible grooms for all of my clients.

Shout out to Shannon at the Grooming Studio for helping me find Models! I have two more grooms left before I a fully certified!

Many of you know Goose as the dog featured in the Tranquil K9 logo and branding, but what you may not know is that Goose is also the reason Tranquil K9 exists.

Goose has been my greatest teacher. He lives with epilepsy and a genetic liver condition, and when he was first diagnosed, we were given a timeline that felt impossibly short. Determined to give him the best quality of life possible, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about canine health, nutrition, and disease management. That journey ultimately inspired me to pursue certification in canine health and nutrition and shaped many of the values that Tranquil K9 was built upon.

Because of careful management, nutrition, and a lot of determination, Goose has remained healthy for more than two years beyond the time we were originally given. Every extra day with him has been a gift.

Today, Goose is beginning to show signs that his liver disease is progressing, and we are facing the possibility that he may be entering liver failure. We don’t yet know exactly what the road ahead looks like, but we will be doing everything we can for him, just as we always have.

I wanted to share this with our Tranquil K9 family because Goose is such a big part of our story. If response times are a little slower or if we seem a little distracted at times, please know that we are navigating a difficult chapter with a dog who means the world to us.
