I had a spot open up for June to September! Figured I would reach out here before going more public.

If anyone has a c**t start, behavioral issues, ground work, obstacles, trail miles, ect. let me know! Not often I get a Summer opening but here it is!

Can you give up control, to gain control?

Sounds wild, but it will forever be an incredible feeling and will strengthen the relationship with your horse.

The biggest fear I see when people ride their horses (especially babies) is that they "need" control. They need to have a bit and tight reins right out of the gate.

If you can learn to trust, relax those reins, and focus more on your body, your horse will finally have the opportunity to show you just how much they want to ride off of your seat vs just your hands.

Start in a small pen, try and let go. Let your horse show you where their holes are and work towards not holding them in the exact place you want to be, but allow them to find cruise. Find responsibility for where they should be riding, while you help guide vs force and micromanage.

Charlie and I had 1 last session together and I pulled the bridle off to see where our holes were. She showed me she was confident in all gaits and had a lot of whoa when asked, but she also showed me that I had held her with more left rein vs asking her to hold herself. To the right she was so intune, to left she was waiting for my hand vs really focusing on what my seat was saying. 😌

A 1/2 ride for Miss Nellie today.

I like to do these half rides and get the horse to move their feet around with me up there to see how they are handling things, before swinging all the way up.

Some horses can handle the rider up and down a 100 times, but when their feet move and they feel that shift, sometimes its just too much. Doing a half ride with movement allows safety on my end, but also allows me to help them before things escalate if they just aren't ready for that full ride 😊

Week 1 with the Emo pony is complete. Pretty excited with the new program I am trying with him. 😍

My boys!!!!

Kratos and Angus.

These handsome fellas have been sitting on the back burner for a year 😭

Now they are clean slates with little done with them. Ive quieted down on my books due to the weather, but now it gives me time to start them!

Kratos will become my show horse while Freyja takes some time off this year.

Angus will be looking for a new home, but not for a while. I want to get him quite solid before I offer him up.

I've been playing with new schooling because winter is always my time for educating myself and these two handsome beans are the guinea pigs. 😍
