Okami Canine Inc.

Training with Okami Canine is investing in a complete training system, built from years of hands-on experience and mentorship under the most respected trainers in the world. At Okami Canine, our training philosophy is deeply moulded by the industry’s most respected leaders. We’ve spent years learning directly from some of the top minds in the dog training world — not just watching their videos, but training with them, studying under them, and applying their systems in real life with real dogs. Here’s who shaped the foundation of our work:

Bart Bellon (NePoPo® System)
From Bart, we adopted a philosophy of clarity, motivation, and communication. The NePoPo® system forms the backbone of how we teach dogs to work with heart and reliability — not just obedience, but willingness. Michael Ellis (The Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers)
Michael’s precision-based training and focus on engagement, drive development, and clear communication helped shape how we structure our sessions, develop obedience, and teach both dogs and handlers. Pat Stuart (The Canine Paradigm) – Pat brings a unique perspective as a military working dog trainer and educator, blending tactical application with clear, functional obedience. His work has helped us refine how we coach handlers and break down complex behavior concepts in a way that makes sense to everyday dog owners. Jay Jack (GRC Dog Sports)
Jay’s insights into relationship-based training, play, and behavioral rehab expanded our approach to helping dogs that struggle — especially those with fear, reactivity, or aggression. He taught us how to create dogs that are powerful, happy, and mentally balanced. It’s a blend of the best systems in the world, adapted to each dog and handler team. Whether you’re raising a puppy, working through behavior issues, or developing high-level obedience, our methods are rooted in real experience — and results.
