We offer a full range of services for taking care of your pets, such as private behavioural training, puppy classes, pet first aid training, day care services, dog walking, professional pet grooming, and customized pet nutrition recommendations. The Dog Lounge philosophy centres around the individual dog and its well being while under our care. We endeavour to provide a true "home-away-from-home"

experience by maintaining smaller groups of dogs in a familiar home style environment. At Dog Lounge we boast a fully fenced in outside area as well as the two inside play areas.

If mornings feel like a wrestling match with your excited dog and their harness, the problem isn’t your dog.

It’s the pace.

Excitable pups see this as a game, or as pressure. The more you rush, the more reactive they get.

You end up late for work, more frustrated, and your dog learns that the harness means chaos.

Here’s how to flip it: slow down on purpose.

In this video, I’m waiting for calm moments and marking them with a treat.

The second she offers a sit, I tuck the treat hand inside the harness loop so she has to put her own head through to get it.

No grabbing. No chasing. No wrangling.

She’s choosing to come into the harness.

Repetition is the magic.

You’ll see in the clip that each round she settles a little faster, because calm is what gets rewarded, not the zoomies.

A few minutes of this over a week, and the harness stops being a battle, and you stop being late.

We almost let this week slip by without a Pup of the Week feature, but there was no way we were closing it out without introducing you to Obi.

Thirteen years old and still running through the bushes like he has absolutely nowhere to be and all the time in the world to get there.

That is Obi. And he is everything.

This sweet, sharp, s***ky old boy joined the Dog Lounge family at six years old and has been hitting the trails ever since.

Seven years later, he shows up with the same energy, the same curiosity, and the same absolute conviction that every stinky thing he finds on the trail deserves a good roll. 😂

Obi loves daycare, loves his people, and has enjoyed every sleepover and social along the way.

But if you really want to see this boy light up? Put him on a trail.

Watch him tear through the bushes, burrs and all, completely unbothered and completely alive.

Back in the neighbourhood though, Obi takes his responsibilities very seriously 😏.

He is the self-appointed enforcer of his hood, and any dog passing through his streets will hear about it. Good thing he loves his treats.

We use those to bring his focus back to us when the neighbourhood patrol instinct kicks in.

Thirteen years old and still learning, still growing, still showing up.

That is the magic of Obi.

His little sister Bella, she’s the black doodle in the photo with him.

Seven years of sleepovers, trails, and everything in between. Those two are a whole story on their own. 🥹

Meet Archie, a 3-month-old cocker spaniel that recently had his very first groom with us.

Before we touched a single brush, we spent 30 minutes just being with him. Sitting. Cuddling. Sharing treats. Letting him decide we were safe. 💛

Because a puppy’s first groom isn’t really about the haircut.

It’s about teaching them that grooming is a calm, kind, trust-filled experience they’ll carry with them for life.

Then came the bath, blowout, sanitary trim, paw & nail tidy, and a little hand sc******ng to finish.

And Archie? He genuinely loved it.

This sweet, big-hearted boy with the goofy smile turned 5 earlier this year and honestly, we cannot imagine this place without him.

Meet Monty, this week’s Pup of the Week.

That goofy smile is the one he pulls out when he really wants to look cute, or when he has been a little bit naughty and is trying to get away with it 😏.

Monty has been part of the Dog Lounge family since he was a tiny puppy, and from day one he has had a very particular way of showing love.

If Monty really likes you, and we mean really likes you, he wants to have his mouth gently around your wrist or hand.

It’s his thing.

Over the years, we worked on redirecting that love language to the ball. And it worked.
