Did you know that For Paws originated as a pet sitting service? (So old this flyer has my maiden name and ancient, former email on it 🤭)
While working at a major Canadian pet store chain as a teenager, I noticed people would come in looking for bucket sized food bowls and water feeders, as the cost of paying someone to watch their pet while they were away was discouraging to some. I started offering to sit for them myself and did that for many years.
One day, I met a client whose cat had a genetic malformation: sweet kitty's hind legs were assembled backwards. When he would army crawl out of the litterbox, he would inevitably get wet litter caked onto his belly and bum. I had been shaving a relative's cat for some time, so I offered her that service as well.
She was thrilled. So she referred me to a friend.
Who referred me to a friend.
As time passed, I slowly transitioned to no longer pet sitting and solely grooming. Over 20 years later, I now serve the GTA from the downtown core to Burlington, Oshawa to Georgina, to ensure that your feline friend is always looking and feeling their best.
I still reference Bosco, the first cat I ever groomed, and Whitman, the wonderful genetic anomaly that made me branch into the career I have now.
