The Mega Adoption Event is CLOSED TODAY.

Thanks to the ENORMOUS success of Friday and Saturday, there actually aren't enough animals to continue the event! Violet (the cat) and Jasper (the rabbit) in the photos are only two of the lucky animals to be adopted over the last two days. Hundreds of cats, as well as many rabbits and dogs, found loving homes! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event!

If you're looking for a family member and are disappointed about today, please remember that there are animals needing homes all year round! Check out a rescue or shelter near you in about a week - they will (unfortunately) fill up again!

Please share and spread the word!

Meet beautiful Pebbles!

Pebbles (A701549) is a lovely long-haired calico who has been waiting for a home since early February. She is an independent girl and not the biggest fan of being picked up, but she definitely appreciates a good head and chin scratch! She likes to be around people, especially people who let her decide when it's petting time. She also likes a toy she can pounce on and a soft place to sleep!

Pebbles prefers to have the house to herself, so she is looking for a home without other cats or dogs. She is 8-years-old and declawed. She can't wait to meet the right people and have a home of her own at last!

Please share and help Pebbles find her forever home!

Calling all cat carriers!

Toronto Animal Services is in need of carriers! Carriers are used to transport animals between locations and to events, and are also greatly helpful for community spay/neuter projects!

If you have a cat carrier that you no longer use, please consider donating it to your nearest Toronto Animal Services location. The shelters are open every day of the week from 10:30 - 6:30, except for the North York location which is currently closed for renovations.

Used carriers are welcome (even the battered ones)!

Please share and help spread the word!

Did you know February is Adopt a Rescue Rabbit month?

Across North America, shelters and rescues are full of rabbits who could use loving homes! Rabbits are often overlooked as rescue animals because most people think of cats and dogs when they think of shelters. But rabbits can be loving family members too!

All rabbits available for adoption at Toronto Animal Services have been spayed or neutered, and are microchipped! The adoption fee is $45.20.

If you think a rabbit might be right for your family, come meet the rabbits at TAS South or East!

Please share and spread the word!

Here's a rabbit who could really use a helping hand - meet Moby (A687887)!

As you can see, Moby is one of the fluffiest rabbits you will ever meet! She is some kind of Lionhead cross and will need a home that will give her regular brushing. She will also need a home that gives her lots of love!

Moby is a very shy girl who is utterly terrified of the shelter. With all the noise and commotion, she is very stressed, all the time! She really needs a loving family to take her home and help bring her out of her shell. She is an extremely gentle girl, just scared! In a quiet home, with loving, patient humans, she will really blossom. Because of her shyness, Moby would do best in a home with adults or older children only.

Please spread the word and help Moby find her forever home!

The dog room at TAS South is a busy place these days!

This month TAS South has been filled with dogs looking for homes - and there are more being made available for adoption every few days!

Everyone is busy over the holidays and animals should, of course, never be given as surprise gifts. However, if you have been planning to add a canine member to your family, then TAS South has many loving dogs that are ready for homes of their own, including Lester here!

Please share and help some lovely dogs find families of their own!

TAS South is urgently looking for rabbit adopters. This foster family in particular really needs to find some homes for the holidays!

Aria arrived at TAS from a hoarding situation. She had been neglected and was very underweight and sick with a respiratory infection - and then she gave birth! She raised her five little ones with love and care in a foster home, and now they're all ready to be adopted! These rabbits are likely carriers of E. cuniculi, a common parasite in rabbits that only causes symptoms in a small percentage but could potentially be a health concern in the future.

How would you like to give some forgotten but lovable little guys a home for the holidays? Meet Martin (A694971) and Mouse (A694972)!

These two gerbils are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together. Gerbils always have a hard time getting adopted, as they have lost a lot of popularity since their heyday in the 1990s. But they make wonderful pets for older children and adults alike!

Gerbils are intelligent, social and active. They should live in a tank half-filled with shavings to allow them to dig - and they WILL dig! They will make a whole city of tunnels if they can! Unlike hamsters, they are awake during the day and form close bonds with each other.

These two boys are sweet and easy going. They are easy to handle, but like all gerbils they are quick and need a confident handler! They are gentle and love each other, and they have been waiting over a month for a home of their own!

Please share & help Martin & Mouse find the home they deserve!
