Level 1: Not Rejected by You 🐱✨
When you first get a cat, they'll usually be a bit shy. At this stage, your cat isn't very clingy but doesn't push you away either. When you give them food, they'll eat and might even raise their tail, circle around you, and rub against you to show thanks.
Level 2: Allows You to Touch It 🐾🤲
Once your cat reaches this level of comfort, they'll start lowering their guard around you. If you touch them, they won't resist. Allowing you to pet them means your relationship is progressing nicely.
Level 3: Kneading You 🐾💕
When your cat lets you pet them, it means they trust you a lot. Soon enough, you'll have a real clingy kitty. If your cat starts kneading you, congratulations! They've reached level three of clinginess and see you as a family member.
Level 4: Comes When Called 🐈⬛🔔
At level four, your cat becomes more proactive. When you call them, they'll usually come running. This means they've accepted you as their person. Whenever you call, they'll come to you.
Level 5: Follows You to the Bathroom 🚻🐈
At level five, your cat will stick to you around the house, no matter what you're doing. Even if you go to the bathroom or take a shower, they'll follow you, worried that you might disappear.
Level 6: Sleeps with You 🛌🐱💤
The final level! It's rare for cat owners to reach this stage with their cats. The highest level of a clingy cat is when they want to sleep with you. Cats that love to sleep with their owners can't stand being apart and want to see their owners every day.
