I held on to this one until I was ready to share it, after taking some time to work through my emotions.
A few weeks ago, we said goodbye to the wonderful Charlie — aka Char Char, Charlie Brown, and Chuckles. 🤍
Charlie grew up alongside our own personal dogs and was one of the very few who could happily share a couch, a bed, or even the front seat with them. He was truly a therapy dog — calm, gentle, patient, and always up for anything.
Whenever a new dog joined our walks and was feeling nervous or unsure, I would pair them up with Charlie. Somehow, he always knew how to make them feel safe. Before long, they would become more relaxed, trusting, and comfortable. Charlie had a special way of grounding those around him, and I feel incredibly lucky to say that he grounded me, too, throughout all the years I had the privilege of caring for him.
I truly want to thank Charlie’s family for welcoming me into your lives and for treating my husband and me like family throughout the years. The love, trust, and impact you’ve had on our lives and our hearts is something we will carry with us forever.
Charlie was one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.
