Dear Auggie: On March 28, 2009, we took you home to live with us. I thank your Mommy all the time for finding you. I also thank you for choosing her to be your Mommy. I miss you every single day. But I do feel that you’re with me always and imagine you next to me especially when I'm down. See you in my dreams.

Dear Auggie, our little iggy up in the sky. Exactly two years ago (Nov 3, 2019) you passed on. I have been sad ever since. Of course, life moves on, we pursue new activities, and seasons change routinely. I've transmuted that grief energy toward positive pursuits like my art studies and savouring time with our friends and family. Through it all, I think of you and everything being with you has taught me. I love you and miss you so much Auggie Doggie.

To Auggie, our little iggy up in the sky: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, little one. Today you would be 13 years old. Do you remember when we took you home from the Animal Hospital for your post-op visit and we stopped by Chudleigh’s farm to walk in the apple orchards? It was one of the many experiences we wanted you to savour since we didn’t know how much time you had left with us. You were recovering nicely after your operation but you still didn’t eat much and you were getting weaker each day. We towed you around the farm in the little cart we borrowed but you couldn’t hold your excitement of being there. Easily, you found the strength to walkabout when you could. That day, I was supposed to attend my Japanese ink-painting class, but I gladly missed it so I could spend as much time with you as I could. Looking back, I wish I was with you even more. 14 days after our visit to the farm, you left us to go to the rainbow bridge.

I wanted to share this memory with our family and friends to celebrate your Birthday today. We love you and miss you so much Auggie Doggie.

11 years ago TODAY, when your mommy and I brought you home, I could not predict how much having a little being like you could change my life.

Loving you had remarkably changed my views of the world and the living things in it. I learned a great deal while caring and raising you. I also learned many things about myself and where I needed to improve. Most of all, you've shown me that an undying devotion & love beyond that which any human being could give is indeed possible.

Happiest of all birthdays to you, my little man. Nobody will ever comprehend the connection the two of us have. We are made of startdust and universe knew what it was doing by putting us on the planet at the same time to share each other for a blink of time. There will never be another Auggie+Diem combo. I miss you so incredibly much...you will always be with me in the patches of sunshine around the room, the lonely star in the sky leading the way when I fly at night, the sound that wakes me up in the middle of the night that I lift the sheets to to let you under, even though you’re no longer here in body. Here is a photo I took of Auggie & Diem during an outing that we took to the Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchards. It was during a time when we learned of his cancer so we wanted to make every last moment he had left on Earth to making memories with Mommy & Daddy.
